Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely atmosphere, great location and the most comfortable mattress in any hotel I have ever stayed in (and I am 65, extremely well travelled and live with disability-related pain!). When you step out of the lift and turn left, the first thing you see is a table with free home-made cupcakes, cookies and banana bread (home-made ice cream is also available)...what a welcome! The rooms are small but perfectly formed. Having found Grasshoppers, I don't think I will ever stay in any other hotel in Glasgow!

This is possibly the best hotel experience ever for me. It was impeccably clean with very welcoming and helpful staff. The room was lovely and spacious and no carpet and clearly quality bedding, super for those of us with allergies. No fighting with a bath matt as the easy to use, nicely hot shower's floor had inbuilt grip. There are so many little details that simply don't happen elsewhere. From a little box of smarties on arrival, to the plentiful tea and coffee and real milk in room and in the sitting room. Then there was the lovely little cakes and ice cream available to everyone in the hallway. What a great hotel. Thanks very much, it really made our stay!

A bit of a dilemma this place. One of the best bits about this hotel is its central location and that’s also the worst bit. The area around this hotel at night (certainly weekend) was unpleasant and within a few doors away there were a host of things happening that shouldn’t be. Remember all there is at street level is a small security coded entrance and I couldn’t wait to get through it. The place itself defies connection with the ground floor entrance with clean, modern large rooms and lots of little extras (smarties, cake and ice cream) and staff who were helpful. Our room had a slight smell when 1st entering but nothing too bad. And great they had Sky Sports in your room if we happened to have been staying in. Breakfast next morning was a simple offering but adequate. On balance I would not stay here again because of the street scene/activities outside.

Stayed a couple of nights. Warm welcome, spotlessly clean, well equipped rooms, fine breakfast selection, hot drinks, cakes & ice cream freely available in comfortable lounge. Attractive Scandinavian-style design & ambience. Excellent central location above central railway station. Would definitely use again.

We stayed for one night and I wished we stayed for more. The room was clean. Spacious. Well appointed. It had sparkling water. A sky box. Complementary smarties. Reception had cupcakes and ice cream. The people were lovely. Breakfast was just right. We felt wanted and our custom appreciated without it being too much. We will definitely be choosing Grasshoppers again!

This hotel has spacious, comfortable rooms, great food, and friendly staff. The central location is surrounded by streets with shops, restaurants, sites, and transit hubs. PS We had our favourite food and drink in Scotland at a pub recommended by the hotel -- Rab Ha's.

First night in Scotland and we had a wonderful sleep in downtown Glasgow. The room is super clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. The cupcakes, cakes and ice cream are a real treat. And the staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. My roller wheel on my suitcase came apart. The staff kindly lent me some gorilla tape and scissors for a temporary repair. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

The staff were lovely and accommodating, the room was on the larger side for a small hotel, nice touches like iron and hair dryers. Free cake! Lovely sitting room with tea and coffee. A perfect central location for walking around the city. Note: it is next to the Central train station. We are from a city so it felt pretty normal to us but I can understand where people from more rural or suburban areas might find the area a little sketchy. It didn’t seem unsafe to us and the hotel is very secure.
