Travellers' Choice
Based right in the heart of Glasgow, adjacent to Queen Street Station and Buchanan Street and with the airport bus service stopping right at our door, we are the perfect city centre base. We are four star rated, and each of our 64 bedrooms feature a complimentary Minibar and decanted spirits, multi channel LCD TV with Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3, desk, and bathroom with bath and power shower to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing stay while you are with us. WiFi is free for the duration of your stay, and so are local phone calls. National calls are just 3p per minute. Located on the 7th floor of the hotel, Windows is Glasgow's only rooftop restaurant. Windows Restaurant serves delicious dishes created with local produce with menus changing to reflect what's in season. In fact, the food is only matched by the view over the rooftops of Glasgow! Breakfast is served in Windows in the morning, or can be delivered to your room. Guests can enjoy complimentary soft drinks, snacks and coffee throughout the day, and complimentary wine, beer and selected spirits each evening in the Executive Lounge located on the 7th floor. The lounge also features the Thomson Boardroom, ideal for meetings or private dining for up to 12 people. At the Carlton George Hotel we've worked hard to create a comfortable and informal setting where you can make yourself at home and relax, but still experience fantastic service.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked this hotel due to its great location in the city center. We were able to check in early and staff were lovely. The room was clean, however very dated. All the wooden furniture was water marked and falling apart. Really needs updating. We didn’t eat or drink in hotel so cannot comment on that.

Cant rate this hotel highly enough. Central Glasgow right next to train station. We stayed in a club room with balcony and for once the weather was kind to us so just sat outside til midnight watching the world go by. Lovely executive lounge for relaxing in with snacks and drinks. Comfortable bed made for a great night's sleep. Looking forward to returning in October. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Glasgow. Amazing friendly staff always make you welcome

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean, tastefully decorated and the complimentary mini bar and decanters of gin, whisky and vodka an added bonus. The restaurant was well run both at dinner and breakfast. Will definitely stay here again when next visiting Glasgow.

Quite an interesting hotel! Booked at very last minute during the week and was pleasantly surprised this hotel, right next to Queen Street station (where I needed to be early the next morning) for less than £90. Bargain! The hotel itself is decent - the room was huge, but the piece de resistance had to be the FREE BOOZE in decanters in the room, which I have honestly never seen before in probably 20 years of travelling around budget hotels across the world. Not just miniatures in a fridge - actual decanters of whisky, vodka and gin. Wow! But funnily enough, I didn't touch the free booze. Shower/bathroom was decent, comfortable bed, checked out and straight onto the train - would consider again!

Lovely hotel and staff very helpful. Food in the restaurant excellent too. Hotel is central with easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. I would say the rooms are beginning to look tired however they’re spotlessly clean. I would recommend

My daughter and I stayed. We visited the Kings Theatre at Night to see "I should be so Lucky" - the Stock Aitken and Waterman, musical. We had a wonderful time. I just love this hotel. It is ideally situated for restaurants, theatres, and shops.

An excellent convenient hotel, its location next to Queen street station was great for both access and the city centre. The decor was great, and the rooms comfy, if a little dark. The food in the restaurant was good and well priced, with great views over the city

I travel all over the UK on business and this is the first hotel I’ve stayed at that I didn’t want to leave! The Executive Lounge is well worth the money. I had continental breakfast there every morning, and managed to get a delicious scone cream tea one day while catching up with work. The staff are all lovely, but for me it was the housekeeping crew that were amazing. They went above and beyond to make my stay fun, put a smile on my face after a days work and I’m so grateful to them!!! I will be back when I can.
