10-15 minute walk up hill from Queen Street. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly bright faced lady. Explained everything regarding money, breakfast times and the room key thing. We stayed on the top floor (room 19) which was very clean and tidy. The issue we had (which is understandable) is that the walls are very thin and...

Read reviews and thought "no no no" but i live a challenge. Needed a cheap central location WITHOUT shared bathroom. Well i can honestly say very happy, ok not a big room but im useing it to sleep not live in. Lovely and clean nice bedding and towels. I feel this hotel is well worth the £. If u want...

Arrived and based on the disappointing appearance ie litter and bins by the roadside outside. We decided to ask to see the room prior to booking in. The lobby and stairway area smelt, suggesting a deep clean of the carpets would be beneficial. The room we were shown was disappointing It was described as a double. It had a double...

Staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Quite a small room for 3 people. Some of the lights in our room weren't working, light shade had cobwebs on it and the toilet doesn't flush very well. On the positive the beds are comfortable and it's very central. Ok to stay for a couple of nights.

I can't think why there have been so many negative reviews about this place. It's a good little, fairly inexpensive city centre hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful giving us local information and ideas of places to visit. Ok so there is no lift. For me it wasn't a problem but I can understand that it may...

Reception not as friendly and customer focused as they should have been. Shower was very poor no pressure, TV didn't work... Had to carry luggage up four flights of stairs with no offer of help. Breakfast was nice. No mirror in the room . Breakfast was nice.....

Terrible front desk service. Would not recommend. I was inadvertently charged on approximately 50 euros in excess on my card in advance without permission. Do not give this hotel your card details - not even to secure a booking

I'm not sure if many of the other bad reviewers here paid more for a small double room than I did, or if because of the Rennie Mackintosh name they were expecting WAY more, but for 49 pounds, at a weeks notice, for a Saturday night, in Central Glasgow this is certainly a cheap and cheerful option. Room and ensuite...

The small double room was clean, modern and central location. BUT very small and the walls need filling and repainting. The chair in the room has seen better days also. The wifi is too slow for a city hotel. I was disappointed after seeing it on bookings.com.

The hotel is in a very good location and has clean rooms. The problem is that there is zero soundproof, a lot of noise from the doors opening and closing is coming into the rooms.. The Wi-Fi was poor as well.
