Positives: The hotel is convenient for Glasgow centre (15 min walk), has on-street parking and free wifi & is warm. Check-out is at 11am which is quite late. Negatives: Ice-cold showers (electric showers are clearly broken), bed wasn't very comfortable, no en-suite rooms, requirement to leave your key at reception on leaving, breakfast only served until 9am on Saturday. I'm...

Stay at the smiths hotel as it was the cheapest around. Lush and clean and the staff are proper funny. Shared bathroom but when ya only stay for a piss-up who cares. Would 100% stay there again. (Staff member said he was going to find me a pet fox and that made my night)

When first encountering the hotel reception we were not greeted very kindly and it was awkward when talking to staff members. Once given room key we could not get the door open with a staff member walking straight past us, while watching us struggle. Once we left for our event we left our key in the designated box. As we...

Will honestly never be back to this establishment. First of all, there are suspicious stains all over the bed sheets, the hotel room is general is not clean and the bathroom was not in good condition when we arrived (the smell was dreadful.) We struggled straight away to even get into our room because the door is broken. A member...

Not even worth the one star. There was paint peeling off the door frame in the bathroom. Suspicious looking stains on all our bedding. The door was half broken so we struggled to even make it into our bedroom and a member of staff walked past us struggling to open the door and did not even offer to help us....

I have stayed here a few times over the last 30 years and I think it's about the best is have ever been. Yes you get what you pay for but you won't get any better for the money, the bed was comfortable, facilities adequate and breakfast fine. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was located quite close to the SSE Hydro Arena, which was good for us. It was also only a short taxi ride away from the train station. However, the hotel was as to be expected for the price you pay. The room we stayed in was very, very small. The shower, however, was a surprise and was powerful...

As soon as I walked in I had a bad feeling about the place, looked very run down. But I thought it was just for one night and I'd give it a chance. Bad move. We were given a room on the third floor up the most unsturdy stairs I've ever seen to enter our room that wasnt even level....

Just spent 2 nights at Smiths Hotel, and I was surprised. I made my booking on line in hast, and then decided to check out the previous reviews after making my booking. I was extremely worried that I had made a big error after reading the bad reviews the hotel has received in the recent past, but, and it is...

Visited Glasgow to attend a concert at the Hydro and wish we we would of travelled home! Upon arrival it was insisted the payment was made in cash only, no cash on me so had to pay once been to cash machine. Our room was on the top floor with around 6 flights of stair, no elevator. We paid extra...
