Our group of eight golfers stayed with Laurie and Hazel while playing golf in and around St. Andrews in '09. Four in the hotel and four in the nearby flat. Nothing could have been better than the location, the conditions, and their hospitality. Will certainly try to stay there again on our next golf pilgrimage to St. Andrews.

Hi Its always reasuring when a guests compliment us as regards the Guest House, when folk travel such a long distance and choose you as their home from home, it should be just that, and it was a delight having you stay. We always respect and react to comments made and your words of kindness make the effort we make...

Had the opportunity to sneak into St Andrews and play the Old and stayed at the Burness House, very comfortable, hospitable, and reasonable rates, as opposed to the higher priced and overrated hotels here. Here's a link to my review of the Old Course: http://forelinksters.com/course/old_course_at_st_andrews_st_andrews

The hospitality provided by the Burness house is top notch, the ammenities are wonderful, each of our rooms had everyhting we needed. Breakfast in the morning was cooked fresh and always ready. Hazel made it feel like home, I will always try to stay there when I return.

Warm and friendly guest house, great breakfast and only 5 minutes walk to the Old Course. St Andrews is a golfer's paradise and for the golf widow there are shops in abundance. There is no shortage of restaurants catering for all tastes. Definately worth a return visit.

Our group of 4 stayed at Burness House for 5 days as home base for a week of golf in St. Andrews and vicinity. The location is very convenient, the rooms were clean and well equipped, and the service--including serving early breakfast to accomodate early tee times --was outstanding. Would definitely recommend.

Unexpectedly wound up in St. Andrews, and in going door-to-door found this delightful, warm, cosy and very friendly gem of a guest house. Hazel, the owner, was polite, welcoming and a wonderful host. Would definately go back.

I just came back from St Andrews where we visited St Andrews University. We stayed 3 nights at at the Burness House. I am accustomed to B&B when visiting my daughter in upstate NY where she goes to college but none of the ones we stayed can be compared to the welcome we received at the Burness House . Hazel...

Had a one-night stay at this superb location right in the heart of St Andrews. The room was excellent, the owners were most helpful, and everything that St Andrews has to offer is very close to hand - definitely recommended.
