I frequently meet friends for lunch at Gilvenbank and have always been impressed by the friendly, efficient staff. Food is always great and big portions. Great value for money and quick service. Resturaunt and toilets are always very clean and I haven't been disappointed by anything. Also a great place to take kids for a meal.

We were in for lunch and it took 20 mins for a member of staff to acknowledge us with a menu after we asked..... They said we were busy... Eventually they asked us if we wanted a drink, between ordering and our starters coming we were there for an hour, by this time all we heard from staff was I...

Been before around 3 years ago & it was excellent. Went with family again for birthday meal and had sizzling chilli prawns for a starter which were basically served in a puddle of microwaved butter mixed with slivers of chilli. Dish was overcooked & tasteless. Main was a sirloin that I think was done on a flamegrill. Whoever thought a...

Had lunch with 20 friends for a 60th birthday , meal was delicious with a good gluten free choice after discussing with table service . Staff were professional and attentive . Only disappointment was the ice cream sundae that my wife had .

A tidy, friendly, welcoming hotel. The restaurant was very busy and the food was excellent with the Las Vegas burger a must for the hungry traveller. Breakfast was as very good as you can order what you want with the popular choice being the full Scottish breakfast. The hotel location is away from the main road so very peaceful and...

Stayed from Saturday to Monday as the wedding was on Sunday. Had evening meal which was reasonable prices and of good quality. On checking in found out there is no lift and only one disabled room. Service was good all around. Good choice of breakfast dishes. Rooms clean and the most powerful shower I ever encountered. It was £120 for...

We both ordered bruschetta for starters and macaroni cheese for main Bruschetta was cheap garlic bread toasted on one side with a minuscule amount of cheese melted in the middle topped with three cherry tomatoes!!! - poor effort by kitchen but edible. Macaroni cheese arrived and the sauce it was served in was so thin I genuinely could have drank...

The hotel was to a good standard, the restaurant was not value for money as the food was over priced and sometimes over cooked, every member of staff was friendly and very helpful but the wasps where a major problem inside and outside the hotel which was awful, pest control was definitely required.
