This was our second time at the Albyn Townhouse. Loved our first stay there and our second stay was just as good. We had a lovely, covid friendly, welcome from Lydie. Our room was beautiful, lovely bathroom and really comfy bed. The Albyn Townhouse is in a nice area of Edinburgh with some good restaurants and shops around the corner and is about a 15 min walk from the city centre. It has it's own car park which is a massive plus in Edinburgh. Lydie is a wonderful host and has a beautiful home, we felt completely covid secure and will definately stay here again on our next trip to Edinburgh.

This visit took place prior to implementation of Covid-19 restrictions. Albyn Townhouse is situated in a secluded, quiet street very close to the numerous restaurants and bus services of Bruntsfield and is easily reached from the centre of Edinburgh. Albyn is a lovely, immaculately maintained property, and Lydie is really delightful. The breakfast is excellent, and some rooms have a view across the city towards the Forth and Fife. We were so glad we chose to stay at Albyn Townhouse and have highly recommended it to family and friends.

I think we found the perfect B&B, or Guest House, as it’s called nowadays. You might be thinking it’s an ambitious definition, but I’m pretty certain it’s fairly applicable when it comes to guest houses in Edinburgh. The first thing to say is that it delivers in all aspects promised by the owners Lydie and Dave on their website - if not more. So, it is indeed true that it’s located in a quaint cul de sac in a trendy architecturally rich part of Edinburgh (the south west), and that it’s some 20-30 minutes walk from Princes Street and the Old Town. And it’s equally true that the house is rich in abundance of quintessential quaintness and character, as well as in abundance of high quality breakfast food (!!!). But the website does not mention is the cleanliness of the place - spotless, dare I say - and the quietness of the rooms. Not to forget the kindness of the staff!!! It is certainly worth every penny you pay for it, and I highly recommend it 👍👍👍

My partner and I booked a very last minute trip to Edinburgh and stayed at the albyn townhouse and it could not have been any more lovely!! It’s like being greeted by a big Scottish hug when you arrive. We had a personal call by the owner prior to arriving checking we could get to the townhouse ok from the airport and offering us a free upgrade ‘just because!’. Our room was beautiful, cannot fault it and the townhouse itself is stunning - very Scottish, very cosy and full of character. Our room had a book containing all handwritten information about things to do in Edinburgh and a hand-written welcome letter for us with our names on - how lovely. Breakfast is incredible! The vanilla homemade pancakes were to die for - I neeeeed that recipe! The service was faultless, the location was very easy to get in and out of the town centre and you have Bruntsfield right on your door step which is a lovely little area to explore too. We will certainly be back to Edinburgh soon and wouldn’t stay anywhere else! Thanks Albyn ❤️ x

This is a superb stay. Nice bed, good shower, superbly decorated with eclectic collections, lovely staff and a really excellent breakfast included in the tariff. A short walk to Edinburgh Castle and the tourist precinct places Albyn Guesthouse also amongst beautiful old buildings and a vibrant cafe and restaurant area that is sure to please all. Loved it!
