We stayed at the Pillars House for only one night but had such a wonderful stay there!! The breakfast was fantastic and the staff was so nice! We would definitely recommend it to anybody who is staying in Edinburgh for a couple nights.

Pillars House could be a traditional and very good guest house. But it is more than that. But lets start with the basics, Pillars House is located in Leith in Edinburgh. 10 minutes walk from the cool places and very good restaurants down at the old harbour. And around 25 minutes walk up to the city center. The rooms are...

My cousin and I booked a 5 night stay at Pillars house for June 2016. I had been told that we would be placed on the second floor and I really didn't see that as a problem. From the entrance hall to the second floor is 63 stairs. We weren't exactly happy about that but we decided we could live...

This is a fantastic place, sitting in the kitchen where the food is cooked for breakfast is amazing. I recommend this for anyone that want a warm Scottish experience. We walked to the castle in 25 minutes so location is great as well, lots of restaurants and pubs nearby as well.

Edna was very good and her breakfast was excellent. We all sat at one big table which allowed for conversation among the guests. Very convenient to the Royal Yacht and not far from the Royal Mile. Bus was easy to catch right outside her door.

Quite a nice B&B at Leith, a 30 min walk into the city centre. The nearby park is nice for a little walk an the bus station nearby takes you fast to the sightseeing spots. The service ist friendly, breakfast and rooms are good. The nice Landlady recommended us some places to eat.

You couldn't wish for a warmer welcome than the one Edna provides at the Pillars. Three chaps up for the funeral of one of our friends; a sad occasion perhaps but Edna took away so much of the stress. Her hotel is friendly, warm, the beds are very comfortable and everything is scrupulously clean. And breakfast... wow, a stunning Full...

Me and Janne had another great stay at Pillar's House for a long weekend. Everything was top notch, as always, and Holly did a magnificent job with the breakfasts, provided gluten free toast for me, and even gluten free haggis! You're the best :-)

Stayed here so that we could go to my husbands works Christmas party. What a find it was, a wee gem in the city, close to transport links into the heart of Edinburgh etc. We were in a triple room which, even with three single beds, wasn't cramped. We even had a fridge and safe in the room at no...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pillars house was originally built and owned by Crawford which were offices and a spirit store in the late 18th century. Most of the building still has a lot of its character left as you can see as you walk in through the main entrance. The courtyard where our free parking is situated was traditionally used as the delivery entrance where the horse and carts brought the whiskey from the highlands to be blended. ... more   less
