We spent a few nights at the Tigerlilly in October 2014. In my opinion it has the potential of being a very good boutique hotel but it's not there yet. The place is nice, but the management is not doing a very good job. The rooms were not cleaned properly, sheets not changed when requested, breakfast takes ages to arrive...These... More

Came here for cocktails after my graduation with my parents. Great atmosphere, decor is very smart. The cocktails were of a high standard and the chatty staff made the experience even more enjoyable..

Absolutely loved the Tigerlily, Tripadvisor did not steer us in the wrong direction! I honestly think it's the perfect place to stay while you are in town - beautiful boutique hotel with lovely little touches to keep your stay comfortable. Our room was gorgeous and we loved the rotating TV, our sitting area, the fully stocked mini fridge (we learned... More

Had a lovely dinner, food very tasty and attractively presented. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Place is very busy and a bit noisy. Will definitely return, would prefer the background music a bit quieter but its bearable in the restaurant. Very funky decor, great venue for all ages.

Got an Itison deal and so glad we did. Room was absolutely stunning, so spacious, bed was amazing! Had dinner in the restaurant, food was delicious, cocktails amazing and big thanks to our lovely waitress for being so attentive and friendly (and for my tomato ketchup haha!) Couldn't fault anything, only wish had stayed for longer. Will definitely be back.

Stayed two nights. On arrival we were told breakfast wasn't included. Good job I checked our booking as we had paid for it. The first impressions of the hotel are good it is very trendy. The hall ways to the bedrooms though are very drab. The floor in the bedroom creaked like mad and the remote control for the tv... More

Booked a deal through It Is On, think it was about £150 for 1 night DBB and a cocktail each, which I thought was a good deal! Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
