Stopped here for lunch this afternoon and it was a delight. The service was super fast and the staff helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and piping hot. The cocktails were scrumptious. We sat outside and watched the world go by.

Great rooms - no disputing how luxurious the hotel is, but call me old fashioned, I arrived late, indicating to reception I'd had a very long day, to find I was booked into a room that (though a few stories up) was over the club below. I was woken throughout the night as clubbers cam and went - with a...

Went there for our anniversary, we got the Cairo room and was not disappointed, absolutely beautiful, the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in. The bar down stairs is also very nice, we had been in before but felt different being a hotel guest. we went to the Dome for a few...

Had two nights stay in the Monaco room. The room was lovely and clean, good size and comfy bed! The only down side was that there is a window between the bedroom and bathroom so there is no privacy. Might be suitable for some but I found this a bit weird! Room had great facilities and had good views over...

we stayed here back in march for 3 nights. We had requested the LA Suite but were told ti was not gaurnteed and we would have to wait and see what was avaliable on the day. When your paying that amount of money for a hotel room you would think they would be able to tell you if the room...

OMG OMG, don't stay at this hotel on Saturday nights. We were in the Barcelona Room 210, the base from music coming from the nightclub caused ripples in our water glasses. When the club closed at 3 A.M. the crowed on the street was deafening, it sounded like a riot was taking place. The young man at the front desk...

Stayed at this hotel for 2-nights in their Tokyo room, which was nice although looking a little tired. Bed was great and the shower/bathroom was very good too. All hotel staff were friendly. The only slight negative was that we had to ask on both morings for tea bags and milk for the room, as they had not left any...

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
