We needed a cheap stay in Edinburgh as we needed to catch a flight home the next day. Booked Minto on booking.com and wished I checked Trip Advisor beforehand... The room we were sold came with a private bathroom. Unfortunately this bathroom was a floor above the room... private but not convenient. The only toiletries was a half used bottle...

We had a lovely three night stay at Minto. Nadia was very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to old town and on bus route if you don't feel like walking but Weather was kind to us so we walked everywhere. Can highly recommend if you want budget accommodation.

First impressions for some might be that this shabby chic guest house is more shabby than chic however once you get beyond your first impressions, the guest house is very comfortable. The beds were perfect, hot water plentiful with a fabulous shower and if you're at the rear of the guest house, it is very quiet and so a good...

We stayed in this guest house recently. Despite the most well meaning and friendly host this place is tired and run down. The furniture is sparse and rudimentary and the bathroom needed updating. The breakfast was plentiful but the pastries were stale. This place could be lovely and for the price it needs to offer much more. I would not...

Overall if you are looking for somewhere to stay in an expensive city like Edinburgh then this place will do for a base on a short break. It is ideally located just a short bus/taxi ride from the city centre in a nice part of town. The place is clean and rooms are massive and the host efficient. However if...

I stayed here for 2 nights with 2 friends. The room was enormous only the bathroom was small compared to the room but there was everything. Eatable continental breakfast and 20/25 minutes walking from the Royal Mile so a reasonable distance. We paid 80£ for night for all the room that I think it's a quite good price. The only...

I booked a room months before I was due to stay at this hotel, on arrival I was told they didn't have a room for me that night, so I stayed in an apartment they'd found instead. Allbeit, they took me to the apartment and brought me back to the hotel, but for the inconvenience I was only discounted the...

Good points: - Cheap. - Relatively close to city centre. Bad points: - Room was advertised as having a private bathroom but did not specify that this would be a separate bathroom on a different floor to the room. Would not have booked had this been made clear. - Breakfast was the worst we had on our week's trip to...

Hi, I booked this place for 2 Nights for my family (Triple Room -3 Bed 3 adults). Was a bit sceptical about it first as it was my first trip to Edinburgh but was pleasantly surprised with the facility and the location of this place. Owner is courteous and gives a sense of warmth and affection which a family member...
