My husband and I have stayed here twice now and on both occasions it wad very nice- beds are comfy, extra pillows are provided, rooms are a nice size and the food in the Thyme restaurant is nice. The staff are helpful and friendly too which is always a bonus. We stayed for 2 nights and slept very well on...

High technological rooms with ICT control of lamps, TYV and the forth, but it was working poorly. Rooms are very narrow. The location is very central, close to the bus terminal but staff did not know the timetable of the airport buses.

We have stayed at several Premier Inns across the UK and none has disappointed. They are good clean basic places to spend a couple of nights. This property is located in a quiet area of the city, but tourist attractions are an easy walk. WiFi is free if you are willing to add yourself to a mailing list. We carry...

Never stayed here before but was not disappointed! Rooms were always spotless and bed very comfy. The staff were very helpful and kind, and the breakfast buffet had a wide range of options available. The hotel is not far from some sights such as the castle, Princes street and camera obscura, whilst using public transport is efficient and easy.

We chose this Premier Inn for its location close to Usher Hall. It's very near Edinburgh Unversity and not far from the Old Town. Our room on 3rd floor overlooked Lauriston Street and was very quiet. Very modern and well-appointed room with bath and big TV. Comfy bed. Reception staff (locally sourced!) on check-in and departure were very friendly, efficient...

A very enjoyable comfortable 2 night stay with such friendly helpful staff who went out of their way to help. Lovely beds, in fact we didn't want for anything and even had extra teabags as soon as we had asked.

We were happy enough with our stay here. All the services you come to expect with a premier inn were provided! Staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived at 9 am and luckily there was a room ready so we could check in. Location wise..It's ok although I think I would prefer to be more central if I stayed in...

Our trip to watch Scotland v Italy was made even better by staying here. Friendly and helpful staff. A lovely clean well equipped room and a fabulous breakfast. It was a short walk to the Grassmarket area and there was also bus stops nearby to get further afield.

The staff were excellent and could not do enough for us. They made us feel really welcome from the moment we entered the reception. We had a meal deal which was two courses a drink of your choice and an unlimited breakfast the next morning for £23 each, I would recommend it! The room was spotless clean as was the...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
