We had arranged a 3 night weekend stay with some friends. We have stayed here previously however this was a really excellent stay – the team and the service were excellent. From the friendly and warm welcome to the efficient restaurant staff and the helpful and professional bar staff. Our room on the 4th floor was large, modern clean and...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

Having requested a quiet room with a castle view we were not disappointed. The castle view really is a view of the castle, uninterrupted by any other buildings. The room on the 4th floor was also nice and quiet despite being in a busy part of the city centre. We only had noise on one morning which I can only...

Really loved our stay here, room was lovely and bed was so comfortable, we stayed in a deluxe room with a view of the castle. It was close to bus stop or within walking distance to all sights. Cinema is at the end of the street and close to lots of bars and restaurants. All in all a lovely hotel...

Thank you to all the staff we met, starting at reception and all other members of staff we encountered during our stay. Highly recommended ! We had a Junior Suite which was beautifully presented and gave us space and tasteful accommodation to relax in without being over the top. Highly recommended and we would definitely return when we next visit...

If you are traveling to Edinburgh this is the place to stay. It's conveniently located. About half mile to Edinburgh castle and just about 0.7 miles from the Royal Mile. Easy access to taxi's, bus and tour busses.

Arrived at 3pm for our 2 night stay and we were greeted with a warm cookie each. As we are Hilton Honours members, we received a card that would get us 10% off the bill in the restaurant. Room was clean and spacious (apart from a few marks on the wall). Bathroom was full of towels - plenty for 2...

Stayed here overnight on business in February 2017 in room 217. Room fine- no bath and small window, but clean and well ventilated. Comfortable bed and nice bedding. Breakfast was good, staff attentive. Check in staff were helpful and were very grateful to be able to check in early. Probably wouldn't be my first choice for a holiday or leisure...

Stayed here for one night. Had business in New Castle and took the train to Edinburgh for sightseeing. The hotel is in a good location, however I would recommend taking a cab to/from Waverly train station and from/to the castle. We walked to the castle but the weather was cold/rainy and it was a bit of a hike. The rooms...

Dear Hudith, I appreciate your time in reviewing the hotel. Although I am happy to read that your stay was a pleasant one, I am sorry to read that you found the restaurant to fall short on both quality and value. I am sorry that your stay was marred by this along with the weather but do hope that you...

Stayed in a junior suite with my family . Large room with view of the castle. Very conveniently located and off site parking ( 5 mins away) is good value. Service was friendly but not intrusive and breakfast was good with a wide selection ( except black pudding which I was looking forward to!) in a bright and airy restaurant....

Dear Hector M, Thank you for choosing the hotel for your family visit to Edinburgh. Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
