Fiance and I stayed at Edinburgh Townhouse last weekend as we were in Edinburgh for a wedding. All staff were really polite, helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and good value for money we felt. Location was absolutely perfect, right in the city centre, walking distance to pretty much everything! Would definitely recommend a stay here :)

Stayed for two nights, perfect location for us. Check in was quick and easy. Room was beautiful and cosy. Had everything we needed, hairdryer, fluffy towels and iron on request. Plenty of tea and coffee, which was restocked each day. The lady on reception was very helpful and knowledgable. We flew from London and took a taxi to hotel but... More

Great central location and very good price. Stayed for two nights in a triple room. Very clean and comfortable. Will be using the townhouse again next year. Very helpful lady on reception who gave us some great advice on places to eat in and places to make sure and visit.

Excellent price for a central location. Comfortable room which was clean with comfortable beds. We had a triple room which shared a bathroom with the other room on the top floor. This didn't cause any problems and the shower was fantastic. We stayed for 2 nights and one of the bulbs in the bathroom didn't work the whole time which... More

Thank you for your recent review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for alerting us on Trip advisor of the bathroom light bulb. As you are aware this bathroom is only sensor operated, therefore it is not always that we would be aware of the bulb needing replaced. We have now sorted this.... More

Comfortable place located in the "new" part of Edinburgh so you do have to do some walking to get to old town and most sites but the walk is not bad at all. And it's Edinburgh so walking around the town is easy and enjoyable. Check-in person was very nice and ready to share information. Bedroom was comfortable and clean.

Stayed there my time in Edinburgh and really would stay there again. Really nice and helpful owners, clean rooms and a perfect central location. The Old Town (Royal Mile), Edinburgh Castle, Dean Village, Haymarket, even Arthur Seat are in walking distance. A lot of drinking and dining options right before the door on George Street. And for all Rebus lovers... More

This is a charming guesthouse, very well located to explore Edinburgh. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Nicely decorated, clean room (we had the ensuite twin) and friendly helpful staff. surprisingly quiet given the location. The only negative is all the steps - but they keep you fit!

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
