I spent 4 nights at Holland House (A Block) in a clean basic single room with en-suite shower. Rooms, corridors and stairs show their advancing age. Excellent Ethernet connection at a very reasonable price: £ 15 / 4 days. As the residence where I stayed was almost devoid of guests, it was very quiet. Excellent and plentiful breakfast filling your...

I ended up in this place because other hotels seemed to be much more expensive. As I know now, that is because here they offer sub-standard accommodation. No hair dryers, TVs, radios in the room, plastic covers on the mattresses and a piece of paper as a bath mat. These are residence halls, so they are devoid of any character...

I stayed at Pollock Halls for two nights from 13/7 - 14/7 on a trip to Edinburgh for a friend's wedding. I found the place on LateRooms and due to its price and other reviews i'd seen I skeptically thought i'd give it a go. I wasnt disappointed. Prior to arrival I had cause to contact the halls to establish...

I recently stayed in Pollock Halls as part of a conference package, for 3 nights. Reception staff were polite and helpful. My room with ensuite bathroom was clean and comfortable, and although I didn't use them there was a kitchen and laundry facilities available. Breakfast in the university restaurant was included and was a huge range of toast, cereal, pastries...

For a small price tag you get a decent room with a huge sellection of breakfast. You will be living in a building owned by the university and eat in the campus dinner. Great for a few days!

Very quiet and very clean. 24/7 reception who help in a friendly and competent way with every problem or request one may have. Rooms fully equipped, laundry facilities in the basement, pantry with fridge and microvawe. Perfect value for money (33 GBP/night End of June, 40 GBP/night July). Would always stay here again. If possible, take a cab from the...

A comfy, clean, quietish room with free parking, and a great breakfast, just a stones throw from Edinburgh city centre - all for £40 a night - bargain. I was a little nervous about staying at the Pollock Halls, but after a slight struggle to find the main entrance, and the reception, it all went very smoothly. The room is...

The halls are located just over a mile, or 25mins south of Edinburgh Waverley station / Princes Street. The reception is smart and polished and very professional. The rooms were pretty fine too considering this is normally student accomodation. Our conference dinner in the old block was well served. The self service canteen offered a very good choice. Allowing for...

An inexpensive, nice, clean and safe place to stay, I stayed for three nights in the halls and there were no problems at all. The location feels tranquil and safe and it is easy to access the city centre, on foot or by cab. The staff were helpful, courteous and quite obviously capable of dealing with any enquiry. I would...

I stayed there 3 nights, first in a single, then in 2 different double rooms. I (we) was very satisfied in all regards with the rooms, with the very richt and varied breakfast buffet and also with the efficiency and attention of staff working at reception, with one exception. We were to hikers travelling to Northern Highlands to walk the...
