This is my fourth visit to stay at Pollock Halls during the Festival in August when of course, prices for accommodation in Edinburgh can be astronomic. I haven't yet been disappointed and all the Hall buildings appear to be designed and furnished in a similar comfortable style. There is an excellent booking-in Welcome Centre and sensible security controlled access system... More

Good value accommodation in Edinburgh where room prices are crazy especially during festivals. Student room was cozy with ample cupboard space, desk, kettle with complementary tea/coffee, lots of power-points, and sink. Bed was not the most comfortable though. Was not an issue getting a shared shower as there're plenty on each floor. Each block has coin operated laundry facilities which... More

Recently, I was searching for self-cater property in the Edinburgh area, to be on-hand for the new Borders Railway, amongst other things. I know I had passed over the Pollock Halls, thinking this was not an appropriate set-up for me. However, searching for suitable small scale accommodation, at a realistic price, I was lead back to this situation - essentially... More

The rooms will have all what you need (bed, tv, bathroom, space enough for yourself). The english breakfast is very delicious and the reception is always kind and look well on theyr guests. At first we were a little skeptical about staying in a student halls! However, everything about our short stay was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, perfectly adequate and a lot cheaper than the competition. Breakfast was included, offering a huge selection of fruit, cereals, cooked food, coffee, tea and juices. Def recommended and would... More

This conference accommodation center is huge. Rooms are basic and devoid of anything pretty, but they serve their function. The staff is just great and very service minded. The room was quite dusty, which triggered my astma

I was in Chancellor's Court on the first floor. The staff were kind and helpful, especially the employees in the cafeteria. I stayed there with my 16 month old child and every day at breakfast, someone brought us a child seat without ever having to ask for one. They offered to help me carry my tray, and went above and... The huge compound which is a students residence of Edinburgh University is turned into a kind of first-class hostel when the summer vacations are on. Then they host international travellers and groups such as from a Scottish Royal Regiment on whatever mission. The hostel is run in an extremely efficient way with a 24-hour reception in a large hall with... More

We've stayed here for the Fringe twice now and both times we've found that the room is sufficient for a short stay with tea/ coffee, toiletries (eg soap etc) and comfy beds. The breakfast is also brilliant because you can have as much as you want (so you don't have to get lunch) and a wide variety from cooked breakfast... More

It cost about £40 a night - staying in student halls. The room was fine - basic, smelled a bit but it was ok. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the grounds and amenities are really good. There is a shop and the food in the bar/restaurant was good. Cant complain at the price and the rooms are... More
