We chose this hotel from a few Travelodges in Edinburgh and were very pleased with our choice. Right opposite the station, a Wetherspoons and the sightseeing buses! Our room was huge, with a double bed and two singles. Lovely view too. Close to bars, shops and a Sainsburys. Clean room, no bar which would have been nice but we had...

Great location for access to Edinburgh. Entrance is commented on often but acceptable .Some local construction was a noise distraction making sleep difficult but staff were accommodative and relocated our room. Helpful staff.

Lovely, clean room! Spent a weekend here and would definitely come back. Lovely friendly environment. Centre of Edinburgh so everything is so close by. The staff were very helpful and assisted us in any way needed.

Staying just the one night for a gathering of friends the hotel was clean tidy and exactly what I expected. The location was unbelievable for the price and at the end of the evening it was a comfortable place to rest my weary head. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable with a special mention to Anne. Would definitely stay there...

Room was very clean and comfortable, plenty of room. No view from window but that didn't matter as just there to sleep! Bathroom was very clean and warm. Lift and corridors were clean and reception, although small, was clean and welcoming. I would suggest more lighting outside front entrance as the small side street road is very dark at night...

Have stayed at this travelodge twice now and both times have been great. The location is perfect as it's right in the centre of Edinburgh but tucked in the street so it's not too busy outside. It's close to ships, restaurants and the play house. When I've stayed the staff have always been so friendly and helpful and were able...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
