This hotel is very wheelchair friendly, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and had a wet room with drive in shower, the bed was a good size and a decent height for getting on and off from the wheelchair . The meals are value for money and the breakfast covered for everyone. The hotel is...

Great location (only 10 mins walk from Waverley Station), this hotel offered everything we were looking for to make our stay in Edinburgh very enjoyable. Efficient staff, quick check-in, clean and bright rooms with air-con, comfortable lounge and bar area. We had a really comfortable nights sleep, it was quiet and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast...

This was probably the nicest hotel we stayed at during out two weeks trip through the UK and Ireland. The location was great, it was clean and comfortable. The only challenge was parking. You need to park in the Waverly Train Station's long term/rental car return parking lot. When you are ready to leave, you need to get a discount...

As the title of the review says, everything was perfect. I am a big admirer of the chain and everything from the location to the staff to the food was first class. I find when I stay in a hotel, if the staff look happy in their jobs it increases my experience as it did here. My wife and parents...

We came to Edinurgh for 3 nights for a family wedding. It does say in the smallprint, but taxis cannot pull up right outside this hotel. It sits on a main street with buses and trams running. Our taxi did drip us off in a nearby street though; no bother. Approx £20 from the airport btw. Tram is about £5....

I booked this hotel a little while ago, not knowing the area I wasn't sure where it was located, but it is in a fantastic location on Princes Street with an amazing view of the Castle from the rooms at the front of the hotel. We were given room 517, which is a front room, so we always had a...

It's a premier inn, so of course nothing fancy but it is in a hood location, only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. Good price, clean rooms and nice bathroom. Comfortable beds and also has air conditioning. Great stay overall, I would definitely stay again.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
