Such a lovely place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. City centre is just 5 minutes walking as well as the restaurants area. The building is very nice and charming. Rooms are big and spacious. The breakfast is superb! I would definitely like to stay again at this hotel in my next visit to Edinburgh.

We spent two nights here in April 2016. The first night was after being awake 36 hours and traveling on planes. We got to the hotel around 9am. They didn't have a room ready for us then, but worked hard to have our room ready for us early. When we got in our room, the shower was amazing! I am...

I stayed her for two nights in April. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the tram stop in which we travelled from the airport. We arrived very early (approximately 9am) our room was understandably not ready yet but we were told by the helpful receptionist that she would ask the cleaning staff to do up our room...

Spent a night here and can't say I'm disappointed. Lovely room, cracking views. Breakfast really nice. Only problem I can say is the temperature in the room through the night was unbareable as it was far too hot and had to open the window mid way through the night. But all in all a nice please note experience

What a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh. Close to the station and easy to find. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was lovely with a view of the castle and the breakfast was really tasty. An excellent place to stay. We will definitely visit again.

Beautiful building and character. The staff were pleasant. The room was well decorated, the bed was comfy and was fairly clean although I found a receipt which wasn't ours by the side of the armchair, the sealant in the shower was layered up (which we found was probably to stop the shower leaking (which it did every time we used...

Hotel was clean, comfortable and really well located for walking into the city (and Dean Village a hidden gem). Nice to have reasonable metered parking close to the hotel and nice communal areas with free coffee. Stylish and nice décor with helpful staff. Good choice for a traditional Scottish breakfast although I am not sure the French couple opposite understood...

Outstanding B&B with truly superb staff! Well maintained with a wonderful breakfast. Within easy walking distance to many restaurants and other attractions. Had a room on the 4th floor along the back of the building with an incredible view. Would highly recommend this B&B!

Took my parents away for the weekend and they are sometimes difficult to please when it comes to hotels, however this one really did manage to please. The building itself is beautiful and stunning, it's not quite the traditional hotel experience but I think that made it. The feel is very relaxed and it's almost as if you running the...

Staying in Stockbridge & Dean Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
