PERFECT accommodation, location and hospitality for our needs. Excellent Base to discover Edinburgh City, suburbs and coastal region. Ideal for walking, driving or accessing the very efficient public transport options. Bus stop opposite, rail or tram 5minutes walk and cabs available. A definite return visit planned following our lovely weekend break. Staff were pleasant and accommodating with a fuss free...

Easily the best experience we've ever had at a hotel. The room was huge and the mattress was like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfast included both a continental buffet and hot food made to order. I loved the gorgeous view overlooking the plants in bloom in the breakfast room. It was an easy 20 minute walk to town for...

This beautiful old home is a great boutique hotel. The rooms are a really good size and there are some lovely touches--complimentary wine and chocolates. The reception staff were very helpful and gave us lots of guidance on where to go and what to do.

We stayed here for three nights with my parents this past week, as part of a longer trip to Scotland to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. In contrast to the rooms at the expensive Airth Castle (see separate review), the Edinburgh Lodge surpassed all our expectations. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was extensive,...

Stayed here for one night during a trip around Scotland. The Edinburgh lodge is in a very good location with easy access to the city centre via bus or walking (takes about 20mins to walk), and also to Edinburgh zoo (5 min drive away). The guest house offers free off road parking, and they will even let you keep your...

I stayed here two nights and everything was great. Very clean and comfortable room. The room was spacious (considering European standards) Very friendly staff, they have an Honesty Bar where you just take what you want and make a note on the notebook in the bar. I highly recommend it.
