This is a 2 bedroom flat in a great location on the Royal Mile, you pick up the key from a member of the staff and good text communication. A very spacious flat but needs some TLC, light bulbs not working, very loose toilet seat, broken shower head and holder. It is very noisy, no double glazing on windows plus...

I booked this for a group of 6 of us to stay after a Playhouse show. We were met at the apartment and given the keys. The apartment was a corner one and was massive. Each bedroom had a double and single bed which was ample. The lounge, kitchen/diner were huge and had everything that we needed for an overnight...

We have just returned from spending 5 nights in The Royal Mile Mansions in Edinburgh. When we went into the apartment we discovered several bulbs not working, apartment was cold with no adequate heating, our double duvet was stuffed into a single duvet cover that didn't cover the bed. The mattress on the double bed kept prodding us with protruding...

Perfectly located, this is an ideal place to start exploring this beautiful city. Everything we need (sights or reastaurants/cafes) can be reached on foot (eg. the Castle is no more than 10 -15 min walking on the Royal Mile). Our appartment was big and clean upon arrival, but... 1) the twin bed was a bit old and not that comfortable...

This apartment couldn't be more perfectly placed if you like to be right in the centre of things! The building is stunning with a double aspect open plan living and dining area with amazing views of the Royal Mile. It's less than 10 minutes walk to Waverley Station and all major attractions are within 5-10 minutes walking distance. There were...

As a base to visit some of Edinburgh's delights this is perfect. It is a short walk from the rail station. We were met by Diane who showed us into the apartment and gave us the key. She was very understanding that our train had been delayed and this was not a problem, I had her mobile number and we...

Four of us stayed here recently while in Edinburgh. This is a small flat, but it fit our needs and is in the perfect location to explore this lovely city. The complex is very safety conscious. Some areas of the interior are a bit tired (the stairs as well as the elevators), but overall it is very nice. Our host...

Very good!! The apartment is in the centre, next to the castle (5 minutes by foot), next to the attractions (ghost tours, churches, bus station, tourist office...). We loved our trip in Edinburgh, this apartment offers you a lot of things : comfort, quietness, a lot of household appliances wich allow us to cook, like we do at home. Mr...

This was our second trip to Edinburgh and we stayed at the Royal Mile Mansion again, only for 10 days instead of 3. As before, it is the perfect location for seeing Scotland. We hopped trains and buses, located a block or so from the apartment and traveled on day trips, keeping Edinburgh as our home base. This apartment is...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
