Stayed at the Inn on the Mile, Best hotel ever stayed in! Fresh flowers at reception. Staff were efficient and friendly. The room was WoW. The interior design at this hotel is ultra cool. The location is central, grass market, pubs and resturants walking distance. Thanks for a great stay.

My wife and I booked to stay here as a good friend of ours was getting married nearby. We were welcomed by a very friendly lady on reception. We were shown to our rooms and were over the moon with the quality and the location within the city. We stayed for two nights enjoying a high quality breakfast each morning

Had a delightful 2 night stay at the Inn on the Mile. Central location, delightful staff, great pub downstairs, and charming room. Only downside is there is a bar nearby that closes at 3 am and the patrons dump out into the street, singing LOUDLY. Definitely woke us up.

Dear Luv2GoTravel, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We are very lucky to have such a central location, and due to being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle, there can be some street noise during the wee hours. We apologise for this and I hope that this didn't...

I'd previously popped in this pub for a drink and wasn't aware they had rooms. I'd stayed over the road at the Raddison and wasn't really impressed, a lot of money for a well worn hotel. This on the other hand surpasses that by a literal mile. There aren't many rooms, so would recommend booking early. I was only in...

We loved this inn! Our room was amazing - great location with huge windows and a wonderful view of the Royal Mile. The bathroom was modern and large. The Inn includes lovely touches that my husband I really appreciated - a bottle of Prosecco with chocolate covered strawberries among other surprises. Would HIGHLY recommend.

The hotel is very well located in the old city and close to all main point and very good restaurants. We can do everything walking. The bar restaurant of the hotel is also good. The room was large and beautiful. We do recommend it.

We came to the Inn on the Mile as part of our honeymoon. The room was gorgeous, with the biggest bath I've ever seen! Downstairs, the bar has a great design and the food was delicious. Definitely want to come back!

This hotel has so much character! We loved the restaurant/bar downstairs, it really added flair to the location, but they treated us the same at the front as any full time hotel. Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
