This hotel is nice calm and charming just a 10/15 walk from Edinburg historic old town. A 4 pound Uber ride. Very kind staff. The breakfast is great. The room was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

You will not be disappointed with this hotel. When I needed an extra service like printing my boarding pass, they were very amenable in helping me. My room was comfortable, clean with everything that you would need.

I loved staying at Channings, it's such a pleasant and cosy hotel, with friendly and attentive staff. It's located in a quiet area and it was not too far from the main attractions, it was a nice walk from the hotel to Princes street for example. I loved the maritime details, old pictures and the charm of the place and...

Arrived late'ish, but had time to get food in the bar. Good hotel service and food was good - dinner & breakfast. Hotel is quaint and in a good location but outside of city centre. One downside is the room I had didn't have air con or a fan...

My wife and I stayed at Channings Hotel about 10 years ago. The place is as nice as it was. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown Edinburgh. The rooms are clean but not very large (perfect for us). They offer a nice breakfast. They have lunch, dinner, and room service. I love the decor. We will...

My Husband and I had a weekend here at the start of May. The hotel itself is in an ideal location for bars, restaurants and all the major sites of Edinburgh. The hotel it self is a lovely set of town houses. We where given an upgraded room upon arrival and a lovely card and chocolates where in our room...

The rooms are small, but very nice. The surroundings are beautiful, the view from window is very nice. Downstairs is a pub and the location is not far from the center, yet it is situated in a very calm neighborhood. The owners are very nice and kind. And Edinburgh is a beautiful city.

Lovely hotel, lovely room, lovely location. Breakfast needs sorting out it is pre cooked and the coffee is awful out of the flask! After first day we took our own coffee and did not eat the cooked breakfast. This would be a superb hotel if they could only sort this out. We would love to visit again if they sorted...

I stayed here for one night for business purposes. Quite a quirky hotel as would once have been several houses knocked into one and this was evident in the public areas as lots of small lounges and different staircases. My room was on the second floor - there was a lift but I walked. The higher up I went the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Channings in Edinburgh is an informal, relaxed hotel with a very friendly approach. It occupies five Edwardian townhouses in Stockbridge, one of Edinburgh's most popular 'urban villages'. Channings is a wonderfully quirky property which feels a bit like a Scottish country home, full of charming Victorian paintings, prints, books, furniture and memorabilia reflecting the history of previous tenant Sir Ernest Shackleton. ... more   less
