Excellent location just 2 minute walk to station and virtually on the Royal Mile. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast and a very good evening meal.My only complaint was the dated bathroom which needed a new shower cubicle as the door was difficult to close and the tiles were grubby. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel is a short walk to the train station and royal mile. The breakfast was very tasty and good value for money and although main public areas are nice the rooms were disappointing and need an update!

Just back after 3 days at jurys inn. Had a fantastic stay. Had a couple of minor problems which were rectified immediately once reported to reception. Best staff we've encountered on a hotel stay. Nothing was too much trouble especially Nori in bar/restaurant area. Hotel in the middle of everything you could need. Great base to stay in. Can't wait...

Worse stay and sleep in a hotel I have ever stayed at. Came home extremely sleep deprived which was meant to be a lovely break away to relax. However, the noise didn't allow me to sleep. Bed sheets were stained and I informed the cleaner and she didn't offer to change them for clean ones. Sink/bath mucky all around them....

Stayed here one night, staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. We had front facing room which was good great views, room was perfectly adequate clean and nicely laid out, bathroom was a bit dated and could do with upgrade especially shower which was a bit weak. Breakfast was ok possibly a bit basic but did the job. Overall a good one night stopover.

Recently stayed in Edinburgh hotel , great location, staff were all really excellent, good breakfast too. It was ideally situated for walking to princes street and the royal mile , also only 5 minutes walk from the station.

Hotel was a great find. Great location in old town and would definitely go back. Breakfast was a little cold though so wee bit disappointed with that. My sister is a bit fussy eating wise so plainer options on dinner menu would be good

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
