Stay here whenever we visit the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Clean and tidy rooms for a comfortable nights stay. We are out all day visiting the wonderful sights Edinburgh has to offer so it is an ideal base.

Stayed here for a night. Beds were extremely comfy, staff was lovely and the rooms were nice and clean. Can't make a single complaint. Would definitely stay again as it was in a great area too. The windows were great for blocking out noise. Heard next to nothing :) Would come back.

We have stayed here every time we have come to Edinburgh and found for the price you can't go wrong it is in the centre of everything so easy to reach most thing to do with a short walk. Situated on a scenic back Street with pubs shops and restaurants.

I was visiting Edinburgh on business. As I arrived early evening from the airport and left by bus at 7:30am next day, I wanted accommodation that was close the the buses. As I would be spending very little time in the hotel room, budget was more important than fancy extras I wouldn't use, and this hotel met the bill nicely....

Apart from the excellent location, there is nothing positive to say. Very basic, with poor standards, I expected more as I thought travel lodge had recently had a re vamp, must have missed Edinburgh Rose Street out.

We arrived here straight after Our wedding just the 2 of us from Gretna Green. Our plan was to see Edinburgh on such a beautiful day and find somewhere special for our wedding breakfast. We received an amazing welcome from Cody who knew exactly what we would need from a stay in this beautiful city The attention to detail was...

Great hotel, central to everything you need for eating and drinking. Staff were very welcoming. When checking out the staff took our bags so we didn't have to take them about with us as well which they didn't have to but they were great

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
