This is a great place to stay in Edinburgh. You can walk to the city (maybe 10-15 minutes) yet the B&B is located in a quiet neighborhood. On the way to the city, you pass lots of fun shops and restaurants and pubs - and the host, John, will let you know which ones are best to go to. John...

Thank you for the great review Diana. It was very easy to take care of you and Heidi as you were the perfect guests. You didn't even need much help finding places to go, you seemed to find plenty of fun places without my help :). John

Everything - rooms, service, food - was great and well worth the price. Public transportation close by and city within reasonable walking distance. Excellent service - felt like home. Will most definitely come back if I got the chance.

Second time I have stayed here, although some of our party have stayed a couple of times more. It is really good, easy access to city, clever ideas to make life simple for you, very clean, very comfortable. John is a great host, space allowing will probably not use another B&B on Auld Wreckie....

It was my fifth visit to Edinburgh. I stayed at Mc'Craes B&B on my first visit in 2013. After that, I tried to book Mc'Craes B&B for three years when I was running the Edinburgh Marathon, but every time all the rooms were already occupied. Finally I succeeded and I can say again: "Excellent, just Excellent!". Thanks a lot, John!...

Thank you so much for your great review Valeriy. The one downside of being quite popular is that repeat guests, that I look forward to having back to stay with us, sometimes end up being disappointed. I'm glad you finally made it back to us and I hope you won't have to wait so long for your next stay.

We stayed at John's BnB for our first trip to Edinburgh, for the new year's eve. It has been an amazing experience. John is a very kind and friendly person. He welcomed us at the door calling us by our first name. He prepares breakfast for all the guests and I must say he cooked us a VERY GOOD porridge....

Just returning from a 3 night stay for our first visit to the city. I can't recommend the B&B enough. The accommodation was spotlessly clean & spacious with a very comfy bed. John is a great host (we had some great chats) welcoming & accommodating. He also gave us good recommendations for places to eat which are plenty and in...

First time I've stayed although my son has stayed before. Well run, nice feel, well appointed rooms, low key but clever way of running a small B&B, look forward to being back in March. Quality ingredients for breakfast, comfortable bed, nice showers - great biscuits!

A very much appreciated review. Thank you so much. With only a few years of running the B&B behind me, I have only recently started feeling that we've figured it out and are doing things as well as we can. It's great to have feedback that supports this. There'll be extra biscuits waiting for you in March :) John

We stayed with John and his family for our first trip to Edinburgh. This is a small (only three rooms) family run place with a homey and charming feel. We loved that they are a part of the organic movement and every choice of linen, towels, breakfast etc is made with the enviroment in mind. John was very friendly and...

The previous reviews say it all! Rooms are modern and comfortable, bathrooms are spotless. Knowledgeable and friendly host. Delicious breakfasts with a variety of food, we were even supplied with a packed breakfast for an early trip which was full to the brim! Our favourite accommodation in Edinburgh so far (and we've been a few times!), we certainly intend to...
