I have stayed here twice, both times for business and also booked their conference rooms around half a dozen times.
It’s fairly decent, no major complaints .. but it’s definitely not a high end boutique hotel. If you’re expecting that, pay a bit more and stay...More
We are regular visitors to Edinburgh and booked this hotel quite some time ago with high expectations - which unfortunately were sadly dashed.
Our stay was for 3 days and we arrived early, as we always do, and asked to put our cases in which...More
I have been to the Epicurean several times since it opened - and I have had the delight of some gorgeous, original cocktails.

Stayed for one overnight with my sister in May, staff were fantastic, so quick to help out with anything, offered a complimentary drink upon our arrival was a lovely touch also. Would definitely stay again!
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.

The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the city - both the old town & the new town. It's a short walk to the High Street ( Royal Miles ) which stretches from Edinburgh Castle down to Holyrood Palace with much to explore. Turning right from the hotel entrance and then right again leads you into Victoria St which takes you to the Grassmarket with a choice of restaurants and pubs in abundance. The new town - including Princes St. - is a ten minute walk.
Transport to the hotel can be taken by Edinburgh Trams from the airport to Princes St (£5) or the Airport Link bus service which slightly cheaper and terminate at Waverley Station (rail) with a short walk up The Mound.
