The staff here could not have been more nice or helpful. We were up for a rugby weekend In largely typical Edinburgh blizzards. They constantly cleaned & mopped up the entrance area when rain on floor. Also very helpful & found me a mobile charger when mine broke on Sunday & shops were shut. Nice bar staff. The only loss of a star is I usually stay at the Carlton. It’s a beautiful old Edinburgh building with a lovely swimming pool. It’s unusual not to have a pool in a Hilton. I just prefer the building & facilities there though emphasise this was nice clean tidy up to Hilton standards with nice staff
Have stayed here at the Hampton by Hilton on many occasions and I have never been let down on any the times that I have visited. The Hotel is absolutely beautiful and definitely clean during this Coronavirus pandemic. Staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming, checked in an hour early which was great. Room was a Queen room on second floor, overlooking the main road but hardly heard much traffic. Due to current Government guidelines your free complimentary breakfast is served up to your room. You get a slip to order your breakfast and what time you want it for. We booked ours for 9.00am and 9.00am came and our breakfast was served at the door. Had our main meal in the restaurant area on our first night.Due to the Hampton by Hilton's policy they don't have a very big selection, saying that the food was very good, staff who served us was very attentive and served us without any fuss. Only thing is you can't buy alcohol from the bar but you can order it for room service. Also the Hotel was allowing residents to bring in takeaway meals and you could either eat them in the restaurant or take them to your room, this is due to restaurants shutting early in Scotland. I have no doubt that we had a very good stay and very good deal. For two nights with free breakfast it was only £97.20 for myself and my partner. It's not far to walk into the city centre but plenty of public transport next to the hotel. Local shops near by too as is the Union Canal which is a nice place for a leisurely walk.…
Spent 3 nights here and can’t fault the room, service or food. Tip: The milkshakes available in the Lebanese Street Food restaurant in the building are amazing. The only thing that could be fixed was the time on the TV, the TV guide was two hours ahead of local time (probably due to the clocks going back and forth). It wasn’t an issue anyway as the tvs have an hdmi port accessible to plug your laptops into.
The hotel overall was good ! The staff were very nice and helpful , the room was clean and spacious despite the circumstances they offered a good breakfast , only little thing would be to remember to fill up the soap dispensers in the toilet as they were running low when we arrived .
Can't actually fault it.booked for 3 nights, room very clean and up to date, breakfast ok given the circumstances(at least they have tried to offer some hot food). The restaurant menu is limited but again, given the circumstances is still provides decent food. I would recommend it.
