I generally stay at hotels when I do City Breaks but my wife received a recommendation from a friend regarding Number 45. Forget Number 45, it really is Number 1! From the moment we arrived and was met by Bill things were in place and organised. We travel light so we were okay with him taking, our travel bags to the...

The house is beautiful, 115 years old yet perfectly maintained. I stayed in a single room - small but completely comfortable. Had my own private (lockable) bathroom across the hall. Breakfast was excellent, and there's a beautiful lounge to sit in and read. Situation is to the South of Edinburgh, too far to walk from the centre but with an...

The room is small. Very small, as the en-suite was built in a corner inside it. Beside this, clean, functional, good breakfast. Slept well, not at all noisy, although the city centre is a 10' drive or ride away, bust stop just round the corner...

We certainly would recommend Number 45 for a relaxing place to stay after a busy day of touring. It is a lovely home in a residential area. Although a few kms from downtown, it is very accessible by public transportation. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the hosts were very accomodating when preparing the full breakfast.

Irene and Will are lovely hosts and great cooks. The bus stop is one small block away to city center, or its only a 7 pound taxi into the city. Fantastic places to eat are in walking distance. The rooms have everything you need with views of the charming backyards or sleepy street out front. Tons of charm.

Sweet are the banks — the banks o' Doon, The spreading flowers are fair, And everything is blythe and glad, said Robbie Burns. Its not on the banks of a river, but tucked slightly off the noisy main street, No. 45 snoozes in a quiet street opposite a bowls club that has a welcoming sign out front. (Next time I'm...

Stayed here for one night in March 2016 and would highly recommend it. Lovely building in a quiet location but still only five minutes away by taxi from the city centre and royal mile. Really friendly owners and great breakfast in the morning.

What an incredible home. The owners are friendly and welcome you with open arms. The rooms are tasteful, clean, spacious and with great views. There is an incredible garden with verdant colorful plants. The living room has a functioning fireplace which we used during our stay. The relaxing experienced was enhanced by the generous pour of a single malt scotch...

Our bedroom and bathroom were huge, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great - a good selection of fruit, yoghurt and cereal for me and an enormous cooked breakfast for my partner.
