Marion and Norrie made us most welcome on our recent stay in Edinburgh. The guest house is well positioned, with easy access to the city centre, and the Scottish breakfasts are superb. Highly recommended. We will return!

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Mcdonald Guest house. Our hosts welcomed us warmly and were very helpful. The room was not large but exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and entertaining. The guest house is very secure and conveniently located. We will happily return.

My husband and our 19 year old son began our 3 week trip to Scotland and Ireland at The McDonald Guest house. What a perfect beginning to a wonderful trip! Our first visit to Scotland was greeted by Norman and Marion with the warmest of welcomes. Marion and Norman have recently renovated this lovely Victorian guest house with great attention... More

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful stay in Edinburgh, made especially memorable by Marion and Norman, our kind and jovial hosts at the McDonald Guesthouse. They gave us a very warm welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room (all bedrooms are on the ground floor) was comfortable and spotlessly clean. There's a... More

Arrived in Edinburgh on June 17 after a long journey from Canada. We were meeting family for the first time, who live just outside of Edinburgh, and they drove us to McDOnald House. We were eager to eat some dinner so we checked in to the B&B and dropped our bags, but not without a warm welcome from Marion. The... More

Marion and Nory were so amazing and Marion made amazing breakfasts and there was always a fresh pot of coffee in waiting for us. The place was quiet and wonderful and about a 10 minute walk from Old Edinburgh. Nory told us the best places to eat and... More

We stayed 2 nights at the McDonald Guesthouse last week. The room was clean and brightly furnished, the beds were comfortable and complimentary Wi Fi was available. These, combined with the personal touch mainfested through the warm hospitality shown by Marion and Norrie ("Pots") and the sumptous Scottish breakfasts cooked by Pots made us felt at home. What else could... More

We spent two nights at this family run guest house. The beds were comfy, the rooms incredibly clean and the owners Norman and Marion made us feel extremely welcome. An ideal location and a fantastic breakfast have left us wanting to come back for more.
