Spent one night here breaking our journey further north into Scotland. Room was clean and tidy, bed very comfortable, I would describe the accommodation as adequate. Breakfast was excellent and would be happy to go back in the future.

Fantastic meal , friendly & cheerful staff , there were 20 of us and most of us had starters (haggis fritters seemed to be the favourite choice) I had the fishcake ,so if you like fish cakes (I highly recommend you try this as it's homemade and wow it's delicious) , the mains were delicious again , a right mix...

Staff friendly enough, evening meal was very good no complaints there. Very good breakfast too and the eating area was clean and nicely decorated. This is a lively little pub, good to see that it's being used as such with the restaurant and d&b which was a disappointment to say the least The room was very small and the bed...

Stopped her yesterday for a bowl of soup, really looking forward to it as it sounded very nice, sweet potato, coconut and chilli, the worst soup I have ever had and I love soup. It was just coloured water, no substance at all, the very tiny bit of toasted bread thingy was boring, plate of ham sandwiches very basic. On...

We have just returned after staying 2 nights in this hotel. The rooms were comfortable but needed updating. The evening meal was good but breakfasts were lacking in choice and didn't cater for people with specific dietary requirements. I ended up having just a dollop of scrambled eggs as there was no option for brown toast, according to the surly...

We only booked the night before we left home for three nights(booking.com) there was some sort of mix up concerning b.com, the young lady on...

The Stag Hotel is a small traditional Scottish hotel cum pub. We stayed with in cottage room attached to the hotel and the room was clean and comfortable for a one night stay. We had the dog with us and the hotel is dog friendly with them being allowed in the bar and games area. They are not allowed in...

We visited for a meal in October 2016. First impression is that it is a typical pub. However we had dinner in the restaurant which was clean, bright , warm and intimate (only serves up to 25 customers). The food was tasty, home made and well presented. We were so impressed that we returned again before leaving moffat. We also...

We were out for a family drive and stopped off in Moffat on the way home. We were spoilt for choice with a varied menu and the food was excellent I would definitely recommend The Stag and I'm sure we will be stopping off there next time we are in Moffat
