Needed to break up the journey to the highlands and having stayed back in July first thought was to try this place again. So glad we did. This time we stayed in Room 1 which is a large room which includes double bed, wardrobe two seater settee and flat screen tv and plenty of space. There is also a kitchenette...

Today on my way home from visiting my Aunt, uncle and cousins in Edinburgh we visited the Balmoral Hotel for our evening meal which I really enjoyed which consisted of really delicious gammon and eggs served with delicious chunky chips washed down with diet coke which I really enjoyed and which I would recommend. Other reasons for liking this establishment...

We were lucky last week! They put us in the Cottage No 1 in the Courtyard at the back. Warm, great Lounge and kitchen facility and a comfy bedroom and Ensuite. Is it really 3 years since we last stayed here? Dining in the Bar area meant we had lively company and our Fish and Chips were absolutely great too....

We stayed twice en route to and back from the north of Scotland (conveniently located just off the M74) in this old coaching inn which has been very well brought up to date. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the meals were good and the hotel was very clean. Our real focus was on the spacious rooms, which...

We have stopped many times at this fine, very well appointed hotel, on our journey to and from Highlands. Moffat is a short distance from M74, with a famous sheep racing event. Not only is the hotel excellent value, but the food served in the restaurant is excellent home style cooking. I would recommend the Chilli con carne.

We called here for lunch, it was ok, nothing exciting. We had jacket potato with tuna and cheese baguette. Baguette was ok, jacket potato was microwaved and mushy and not browned in oven or grill. Side salad was good with beetroot, pineapple (tinned), lettuce, cucumber and tomato so filling! We weren't asked if everything was ok when plates collected and...
