This small hotel and restaurant is ideally situated in a quiet area within easy walking distance of the town centre. The room was comfortable, the food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast very good. It represents excellent value for money.

My wife and I stayed at Hartfell House for just one night before travelling on to Edinburgh. Attractive Victorian building at the end of a quiet road with great views over the surrounding countryside - thank God for satnav as it might otherwise have been difficult to find quite so easily! We were allocated room No.8 at the top of...

Stopped with brother and his Mrs, and my folks as part of a round trip in Scotland. Great service. Very fair price. Perfect room. More than expected. Just wish I'd played table tennis upstairs in the guest room!!! Top work, very well done.

The hotel is about ten minutes walk from the main street, has reserved parking across the road and room to park outside. It is a quiet residential street which is virtually on the edge of the countryside. We had a ground floor bedroom which was great for us, other rooms are up stairs. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable...

A pleasant hotel in a charming part of Moffat, the room clean with a nice aspect but a little small ..... as was the bathroom which seems to be inevitable with the conversions of these buildings from a home to a hotel. nevertheless, the price was fair and the hosts friendly and welcoming. The great delight was the dinner which...

Hartfell House is in a lovely quiet area of Moffat. Huge room and really good sleep. Breakfast great and served in lovely dining room with crisp white table covers. We return because we love the Limetree restaurant which is in this hotel. Do check as only open some evenings and best to pre book dinner as popular. Good booking website

We stayed here on a trip back from Manchester - it took less than 2 hours, so was an ideal mid point for us to stop. We had been here before, and were very happy to go back again. Our room, on the top floor, was a reasonable size, although with the sloping ceilings it felt smaller. It was clean...

Quite disappointing. Although the lady was friendly, it was not very welcoming. In need of some modernisation as now very dated. Beds were very very hard and neither of us did not sleep very well. Breakfast was good though but not very relaxing.

Eat at the Lime Tree on Friday evening - simply delicious. Approx. 6/8 mins. walk from Centre of Moffat and worth every step. Lovely welcome and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. Restaurant fully booked, which did not affect the service or quality in any way. If we revisit Moffat, we will certainly include this restaurant again. BRILLIANT. (Only...

From the moment we arrive to the moment we left nothing could have been better. This was stop 1 on our tour of Scotland and a wonderful place to start. The room was spacey with a full tea, coffee tray although only one hot chocolate and one packet of biscuits. The bed was ver comfy and the shower very hot....
