Just stayed the one night on route up north and it was lovely. The room was pretty much immaculate and the owners were really friendly. Great breakfast in the morning and when we arrived quite late we got offered proper milk for a brew which was a lovely touch. The shower is quite compact, there was a tv somewhere just...

Returning to Scotland from a trip to Manchester and booked Fernlea at the last minute to avoid too long a drive. The accommodation was spotlessly clean the hosts were very friendly and very helpful. Recommended local restaurants and asked at what time we would prefer breakfast. Breakfast was delicious. Easy access from the road with ample parking. Festive decorations were...

My wife and I stayed here in early September for one night on route to the north of Scotland. We were given a warm welcome by proprietors Isabell and Philip and shown to our small, but immaculately furnished and spotlessly clean room which had an equally spotless and well proportioned en-suite bathroom attached. Isabell and Philip were friendly and helpfully...

Great friendly hosts in a traditional converted house with en suite facilities situated not far from the main visitor centre. A bit of a downside are the small sized rooms with limited wardrobe facilities which could be a problem with a long stay. Comfortable bed but with noticeable traffic noise. Great breakfast freshly cooked. I would happily return for another...

This is a lovely small family run B and B. friendly and welcoming. lovely clean and comfortable rooms, free wi fi and the nicest cooked breakfast i have had in a guest house in a long time. We had booked all three rooms so it felt very homely. Would recommend Fernlea to anyone.

As we were doing an event in the area, we needed somewhere to get our heads down. Just off the motorway with really friendly owners, it was a shame that it was only a flying visit. Unfortunately we had to miss out on the breakfast but we were provided with a great packed lunch which set us up for the...
