The bar/restaurant is very nice with an excellent atmosphere, and interesting/funny things to see. Although the haddock wasn't the best I've ever had, the nachos were amazing as was the waffle for desert. There is also a nice selection of beer. If you're in the area, it is well worth a visit. The hotel itself is very clean and well-kept....

I can't rate this place highly enough. My teenage son and I stayed here in August and it was just perfect. Easy to reach from England and the nearby train station meant we could travel by train into Edinburgh - avoiding my phobia of driving in cities. Room was spotlessly clean with lovely comfortable beds, breakfast cooked to order was...

I've been going to the Cross Keys Inn for about 4 years now and it's a home from home and they know how to look after a customer, sometimes it's quiet (it's a country pub) but it can fill up in seconds! Someone put up a review that said they had to wait for a drink as the staff were...

Fantastic atmosphere, great food and fab people. The locals turned out in great style with their instruments great last night and we danced till the early hours. What a treat and a fabulous Scottish welcome.

We stayed here overnight and enjoyed an extremely warm welcome from Margaret , the proprietor. Our room was spotless and the lovely touches of toiletries, bottled water and assorted hot drinks were an added bonus. The food was excellent especially the huge Scottish breakfast which set us up for the day. The bar areas are quirky and cosy, a real...

Stopped here a couple of times for food on recommendation of Ettrick Valley Yurts. Great place. Food was outstanding. One of the best casseroles ever. Staff very friendly. Pub itself is very welcoming, there's even a snug. My only concern is that the place is rather empty out of season which is a shame. Definitely worth a detour just to...

Today I decided to take my 91 year old mother-in-law over from Innerleithen to have lunch. When we got there we were really disappointed to see a temporary sign on the door saying bar was open but the restaurant was closed. We enquired further and the owner said she was on her own as her chef had gone off home...

The whole guest experience was excellent. Great room, with plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits, spring water. The food can only be described as fabulous, from the sumptuous breakfast to the great bar menu where the quality and portion size are truly the best I have had. The selection of Gins behind the bar are amazing, as is the character décor throughout all the...

I booked a table here for 11 of us, all bikers. They were very accommodating, changing the booking time at short notice (we visited Holy Island and lost track of time!). The staff were welcoming and extremely friendly! The menu had a good selection of dishes to choose from and was served piping hot. The portion sizes were generous meaning...

We stayed for one night on route from the Isle of Skye home. The Inn is located in a lovely village and we were welcomed by Margaret with a big smile. The rooms could do with some modernisation but all was clean and comfortable. The biggest selling point for this place is the bar, food and staff. Great selection of...
