They took £163 from my bank account for a trip that I could no longer attend due to a close family bereavement despite me emailing well in advance to notify them that I could not attend. The lack of care and compassion is disgusting.

There is of course more to this than at first impression. We already said to this lady we are very sorry for her bereavement, however the full circumstances of the cancellation of her booking are a lot more complex, hence we only requested half of what we could have.

We visited Cringletie a few years ago and had afternoon tea, with which we were very impressed and decided to stay over this time whilst visiting friends. We were not disappointed. Beautiful surroundings, comfortable accommodation and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

Second visit for afternoon tea using a voucher. We received a warm welcome and after our coats were taken and hung up for us we were escorted to a first floor lounge and seated at a charming turret window. Sandwiches, cakes and scones were perfectly formed and tasty although vanilla in the cream and jam was a bit strong for...

This is a beautiful, well maintained hotel with staff who were all friendly and attentive . The grounds are lovely with loads of daffodils on our spring trip. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. This was our first visit but I would certainly go back.

We stayed here a couple of weekend ago. The room was spacious and clean with great views over the gardens. The food wes first class . We Tried the taster menu on the Sunday evening with the matched wine- great value for money . We loved our stay and will come back.

Once again a lovely stay at Cringletie, the staff as always were pleasant and helpful. Cringletie House sits in lovely grounds and has a kitchen garden. There's a croquet lawn, petanque, outdoor chess , wellies and umbrellas are available at the front door. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Don't miss this gem.

We booked for one night dinner B&B in a classic room and were upgraded to the fabulous Selkirk Suite on arrival. Welcoming romantic hotel with comfy lounges, interesting art work, log fires. Full of thoughtful extras like wellies and umbrellas at the front door. Lovely grounds to wander round. Excellent food with quality Scottish produce.

We stayed overnight with our son who was competing in a local competition. The rooms and the public spaces were beautiful and the surrounding scenery spectacular. Unfortunately, we arrived too late for lunch so ordered room service and it was the fastest room service that we have experienced anywhere, ever! That did not diminish the quality with the two starters...

We have stayed before a number of years ago and were delighted that on our return the charm, service and the food was as good as we remembered. We stayed in the Rosetta room which has amazing views over the hills, the bathroom was smart and the bed was comfortable and enormous. The service is superb at Cringletie and nothing...
