We stayed for one night to celebrate our friends anniversary. Both rooms were excellent, one of the bathrooms was perhaps a bit dated but perfectly adequate. The other bathroom was excellent with a bath and separate shower. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. Our dinner and breakfast were excellent, generous helpings of food and reasonably priced. We hope... More

We stayed three nights on a DBB package. The hotel was centrally situated for climbing the Eildon hills and near to local attractions such as Abbotsford; Loch Skeen was a short distance away. Hotel staff were friendly and the hotel was clearly well managed. The food was very good indeed, and our package allowed us to have any items on... More

The centre of this small town which is easy to get around. Parking is available short term outside the hotel but residents parking is straight across the road at their sister hotel.

Pleasant hotel restaurant in a good location, friendly greeting on arrival, left to chat during lunch, chose not to have the set lunch menu, good selection of starters and mains plated well and balanced flavour, scallops, foie gras and smoked salmon excellent, corkage on the high side and a bottle of Chablis was hiding

Good choice lovely cooked food very nice young staff. Both had excellent fish dishes. Smoked haddock crumble and battered haddock and chips. No room for pudding unfortunately but looked good. Nice hotel in Melrose town centre which is always worth a visit

We happened upon this attractive Georgian hotel while exploring Melrose in the rain. The dining room looked busy, so we expected to be turned away. We were delighted to be shown to an elegant round table near the window. The varied menu offered good choices but we opted for the 'Early Bird' two course lunch. Water and warm rolls with... More

Very nice bedrooms all different, all well appointed. Staff helpful and food to a high standard. Very clean and good decrotive order. We have already booked our 2017 Borders Book Festival stay in June 2016. Our only complaint is there is no guest lounge where you can read a book or use the internet when the other half is having... Family-run and it shows. Excellent room, spotlessly clean. Overlooked the main street but very quiet - though might not be when the Rugby Sevens are in town... Plenty of lights, which makes a real change. Breakfast fine but early bird brasserie dinner was excellent. Felt the staff really wanted you to be happy.

This as a hotel which has modern high standard accommodation probably better than most 4* hotels. We had dinner in the evening which was very good and if you don't want a full dinner it's sister hotel directly across the road has excellent pub food. Breakfast was average in comparison to dinner although there was as much as you could... More
