I'm not a hotel snob ... Honest !!! I was horrified when I arrived and looked at the dirt / cobwebs around the entrance - I continued through to a grand reception hall to be met by the friendliest hotel staff / owners ever My room decor was dated but the space & cleanliness was good A colleague who had...

The hotel is on the southern edge of Galashiels in a lovely peaceful setting overlooking the Eildon Hills ample parking. We had an evening meal there and my salmon was delicious. For dessert I chose chocolate and orange tart. I expected it to be a slice, but it came as an individual pastry case with solid chocolate filling, and garnished...

I have been a regular visitor to the Kingsknowes Hotel since Christmas 2015, staying several nights a week in different rooms. There are three quality aspects that I judge when I stay away from home; these the staff, the food and the quality of sleep. So in simple terms; I have on every occasion been delighted by the warm welcome...

Good size room and bathroom. Cleaning issues were the dirty toilet brush and windows. The TV remote control was not working, so had to go over to the TV to change channels and sound level. Vegetarian breakfast only consisted of beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and egg.

Stayed here for one night while traveling north. The whole experience reminded me of staying at a friend’s Hunting Lodge in The Highlands back in the 1980’s. The building is magnificent with some lovely period features, including a truly spectacular conservatory complete with productive grape vine, consistent with its original owners desire to show off his wealth and importance when...

I was booked into stay here for four nights from a Monday. On check in we were greeted by a pleasant gentleman who offered information about dinner and breakfast times. I was given room 24 on the second floor. It was small but clean and well presented. I found the room a bit stuffy once I came in but this...

We were stunned and delighted by the fantastic corner suite double bedroom we were shown to on arrival on a frosty Friday night. The room was really large with curved bay window (in the turret!), lovely traditional feature fireplace and furnishings and really comfortable bed. We were surprised to have an adjoining twin room (could have brought the kids) and...

Having visited the hotel on many occasions we attended a function there on saturdau and spent the night. Rooms were great and massive compared to the normal modern hotels. Seating rea, bed, large bathroom. Old fashioned in style but fully functional, nice change from todays modern type hotels. Bar prices great and nobody will be riped off. Food was excellent...
