We stayed 3 nights at the Hawthornbank Guest House in May and were most impressed with our room and breakfast. The views from our bedroom were lovely and the walk into town only took 10 minutes. We managed to see the Flying Scotsman while we were there. The staff were friendly and very helpful and we would love to stay... More

We stayed in Room 2, it was spacious and beautiful. Loved the shower! We had a full Breakfast which was cooked freshly for us. It is very relaxed and they let us decide what time we wanted breakfast! Easy check in/out

My husband and I visited our daughter while she studied abroad in Galashiels. We can't say enough about our stay here. Helen and Ian were wonderful, friendly, and accommodating hosts; and our room was beautiful as well as very comfortable! We enjoyed the breakfasts each day, and Helen graciously invited our daughter to have breakfast with us during our stay.... More

Delightful guesthouse conveniently situated for the re-opened railway line to Edinburgh, and Galashiels town centre. We stayed 2 nights at the end of September and will certainly stay again without any hesitation. Excellent hosting from Helen and Ian, lovely lounge, great selection of books, fantastic full breakfast, room superb, very comfortable, clean and spacious, 5 stars all the way!

Stayed here for one night at the end of June and really enjoyed it. The room was absolutely first class and the breakfast was fantastic! I am moving to the area and will certainly be recommending this Guest House to friends and family when they come to visit.

I have travelled to many hotels all over the world and stayed in lots of B&B's I find the B&B's better than hotels as it's someone's home and business and that means more to them than any hotel manager. This place is right up there one of the very best I have every stayed in. Very classy furniture and rooms,... More

Our first time at this guest house, we came with friends to celebrate a birthday. Helen and Ian the owners could not have been more welcoming. We were looked after from the moment we arrived. A lovely breakfast, with a great choice. The standards in this Guest house were top class, could not fault a thing. The sister pub and... More

Having stayed once again at this outstanding B & B. It just appears to be better each time (If that's possible). The fabulous welcome, to the warm approach throughout our two nights visit was second to none. Helen and Ian are so fabulous, and from the moment you arrive till the time you leave, you are treated like Royalty. The... More
