We always try and have lunch in the George Hotel restaurant any time we are in or around Inverary. As usual we had a lovely lunch in cosy surroundings served by very friendly and courteous staff. The menu is varied, reasonably priced with a good choice of typical Scottish fare and a few extra choices on the specials board. This was... More

I have eaten here a few times before, and today took my mother for a Mother's Day lunch. We were seated immediately and staff were attentive and polite. There was a good choice of different dishes on the lunch menu, including fish dishes, steak and pie. There were also two specials on the board, as well as an additional starter... More

Been to the George a few times, it's a fab hotel, friendly staff, fab portions, great location and the owner made me and my partner so welcome. It's picturesque inside and so traditional and welcoming. It's got so much history and just been remodernised. Would highly recommend

Holidaying in Oban, we decided to visit Inveraray Jail. We saw the George Hotel on our way to the jail and decided to have lunch there on the way back to the car. Hotel was lovely and we had a table by the fire. Very pleasant, friendly staff and lunch was great.

been to the George a few times but over 5 years ago. Rooms are full of character and very well dressed. Arrived on the afternoon bus from Glasgow and checked in easily enough. Public bar chockers with walkers so we went into the lounge for a couple of beers. Loads of empty tables but reserved signs on all for people... More
