Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Draughty window ; room was not serviced despite being requested at check in , apparently staff forgot and this was not rectified ; unable to use toiletries provided for bath as all too high and no soap provided - really poor . Customer service non existent . Breakfast excellent and breakfast staff faultless , excellent actually .

The rooms were excellent very spacious. The bathroom was overall quite clean, although some hairs found in the bath, and underneath the bath tap could do with a scrub. The pool was small and too busy with too many children, made it not enjoyable. This meant all the adults were sardined into the steam/ sauna or the jacuzzi. Don’t read the misleading information on the website to hire a padlock for a £1 to use in the facilities- they said they don’t do this. The bar was nice, only popped in there for a drink.

We stayed here for a couple of days because my husband used to stay here for work and it was near family. You can tell it’s still used by corporate organisations but that shouldn’t put you off. What would make us come back are the staff. Very kind, pleasant and happy to help. Special mention to the lady who helped me with my first ever buttery ((an Aberdeen specialty) and Joanna who for two nights was just a hoot and really great in the restaurant and bar.

Great place and 99% of the staff were absolutely lovely. Very good location and very clean and tidy I'd have given 5 stars if not for being ignored by a restaurant worker while he chatted, leaving people waiting to be seated without so much as a basic acknowledgment.

The hotel is pleasant and welcoming. Please be aware that housekeeping do not clean your room, you have to request housekeeping at check-in and stipulate how often you require it. Pillows where not that comfortable (for me anyway) and I struggled to sleep with them
