Great one night stay at Brewdog Kennels. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. On checking in there is the offer of a beer on the house - nice touch after a long drive. Extremely dog friendly - if you want a dog bed just ask in advance. Room ‘Sink the Bismarck’ was spacious and comfortable and we loved spinning vinyl on the record player. As we were still under Covid restrictions no alcohol could be served in the restaurant we used the app and ordered dinner to the room which worked really well. The level of service and great welcome from the staff made this hotel stand out. Extremely central location, park your car in the NCP behind car park - if you download their app it’s £12 for 24 hrs.

Stayed here on a recent visit back to Aberdeen, having previously lived in the city for 8 years and regulars at Brewdog during that time this felt like the ideal location to base ourselves.

We stayed in one of the Brewmaster Suites and the decor within the apartment was very nice in keeping with what you would expect in any Brewdog bar. The vinyl record player and records were a great addition and the kitchen was fully equipped.

Whilst we enjoyed our stay here there still seems to be some issues regarding staff understanding and competence when dealing with the apartments. For example on our first night we had tried to order food in the apartment via the app as advertised and recommended at check-in however the app didn’t have an option for food orders so we proceeded to place the order downstairs at the bar for it to be sent to the apartment. This process of ordering for the apartments confused the member of staff with regards to where the food had to be sent. When it did arrive it was the wrong order we clarified this with bar staff who stated the food had unfortunately been delivered to the wrong room - but then suggested we go and collect the food from the wrong room ourselves rather than apologising for the mistake and sending up fresh food. The food was eventually swapped but by this point was cold and unappealing!

Would recommend here if you are a Brewdog fan however some further training for staff appears to be required to improve upon the disconnect between accommodation and bar.

This is a great location if your planning a pilgrimage to Ellon, the spiritual home of amazing beer.
The rooms are large, and feel just right to fit with brewdog style, just a little less industrial to allow you to relax.
We stayed in an apartment style room with a separate living/dining area, it was a great place to relax, even having a record played a good selection of vinyl. Everything with spoiless and felt fresh, the kitchen had everything we needed for the trip, you couldn't ask for a better prepared space.
Definitely worth the money, and it will be my first choice next time I visit Aberdeen.

Our experience at Brewdog Castlegate was faultless.
When we arrived, we checked in via the bar downstairs. We arrived a little early, so we were shown to a table and offered complimentary welcome drinks of our choice.
Once the room was ready, the manager Craig showed us to our room, answering our questions about the area and recommending places to visit.

We stayed in Room 1, Punk IPA, which was larger than expected and contained more facilities than I'd expected. We had a large sleeping area, which was followed by a fully equipped kitchen, leading into a separate lounge area.
The kitchen had a fridge freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, and plenty of storage. As other reviews mention, there were no dishwasher/washing tablets provided, but I didn't think this necessary as we just washed up and had already packed enough clothing for the trip.
The bathroom had grapefruit scented hand soap, face wash, hand cream, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There was a set of thick fluffy towels, and a towelling robe embroidered with the Brewdog logo, a nice touch. There was also underfloor heating! The shower beer fridge was empty, but with as much free stuff as we got, we weren't worried and just stocked it with our own beers!
The lounge contained a TV and the advertised record player and guitar, plus a range of good quality records.

Each morning we were left a complimentary parcel outside the front door, which contained a large plain croissant, serving of butter, some bread and a bottle of orange juice each. We usually got up at around 06:30 and the delivery would already be outside, so no waiting for food!!

Whether we were recognised as customers from the Kennels or not, we were treated like family in the bar downstairs, so I highly recommend using this as your "home bar" for the trip. We were greeted by all bar staff upon entry and visited at our table frequently to be offered food and drink (which always arrived quicker than an app order).

There is a set of bus stops just down the road from the bar (2 min walk), which can take you direct to a number of places, like Aberdeen city centre, the airport and Ellon. There is also a Tesco Express should you want to grab some of your own snacks.

Overall: Highly recommend!

On arrival you go to the bar at the Brewdog Castlegate. We were given a warm friendly welcome, given a table and then provided with a welcome beer of our choice.

At this point we were given the bad news that an ex member of staff hadn’t booked our room properly and in fact we didn’t have a room. I shown them my confirmation email and this is when the staff and assistant manger sprang into action. They went and got us a room in another hotel in the same building as the Kennels just for that night (right next door to the bar) and we could check into the kennels the day after. While we waited for our room to be ready they let us sample plenty of their phenomenal beers on the house. They also gave us beers for the room, glasses and some merchandise. Once the room was ready, the assistant manager helped carry our bags up and then invited us to book a table in the castlegate bar.

Once we arrived for our booking the staff tended to our every need, provided us with sample tasters with every drink we ordered and made sure we never had an empty glass. All the food and drink was on the house that night. In conversation we told the assistant manager we were going to the Dogtap at Brewdog HQ the day after and he hastily got on the phone and booked us a table for lunch, once there we were given more merchandise and told food & drink is again on the house.

After lunch we went back to Castlegate to check in for the kennels. We were given some more welcome beers then again helped up to our apartment. We were again invited to book a table for dinner and drinks in the bar but I wanted to watch the Euro2020 final so despite the Fanzone being full they put and extra table out for us and provided food and drinks on the house AGAIN. WOW.

The apartment was amazing, consisting of a lounge/kitchen, large bedroom and a shower room (with beer fridge and bottle holder in the shower). The apartment was spotlessly clean and well decorated with graffiti and Brewdog art/pictures.

The lounge/kitchen had a large tv, record player, dog feeding area, guitar, sofa, dining table and the kitchen was very well equipped.

The bedroom had a large, very comfy bed, a large TV and plenty of storage for your clothes. The big neon Brewdog sign was brilliant.

The bathroom, although small had a large shower with can/bottle holder and the best bit of the apartment THE BEER FRIDGE. I spent an hour in there just sampling my free beers.

Location is right next door to the bar, close to all other bars, shops and restaurants, 5 mins to the harbour and 15mins to the beach.

Other than the issue on arrival, I couldn’t fault anything. I highly recommend the Brewdog Kennels.

I’d like to congratulate/say thanks to all the staff for turning what could of been a very negative experience into a phenomenally positive experience

My partner and I spent 3 nights here in October and used the Kennels as our base to explore Aberdeen om foot.

Dont let the name put you off, if you are a craft beer fan you will get the pun. If not, then have a look at my photos and take advantage of what others are clearly overlooking!

The kennels are basically rooms in a nice apartment block that Brewdog either bought or rent... Either way, they have put their own twist on them. These are located right next to Brewdog bar.

The room was very big and was more an apartment. It had many cool quirks that just made this stay a little bit better. There was a guitar, a record player (with a good selection of classic vinyls), a bluetooth speaker and a funky feature, dimmable light above the bed.

Did I mention the cool fridge in the shower room that had free beers in it?

The bed was large, comfy and the seated area with tv was just as relaxing to sit in. Everything we needed was included (and more). We would absolutely stay here again. I hope Brewdog open many more! We got breakfast boxes delivered each morning which we did not expect which was a nice touch.

Our room included:
Washing machine!
Fridge/freezer
Oven
Kettle, crockery, tea bags and coffee
Coffee pod machine and pods
Irn
Hair dryer
Fan
Dog hydration station (nice touch)
Smart TV
Dressing gown
Free toiletries
Rainfall shower, shower room
Underfloor heating in shower room!
Sofa
And the quirky, cool stuff listed further up.

We also had access to free bikes but they must have been in use as were never on the wall mounts.

The ONLY let down was i think the heating was centrally controlled as we couldnt get the heating to work properly. Just a minor niggle really. We absolutely loved it here.

On arrival in these COVID secure times and a little early to check in, we were directed to a booth in the bar. Two pints of the dog lust lager and a mandatory main, to allow our tincture to be imbibed without recourse from the local stasi , so far , so good !!
However all that changed when Ross , the very pleasant and helpful manager directed us to our room. Stylish , contemporary and homely all in one sweeping view and dog friendly to boot 👏👏👏👏👏
Retro style record player , 80,s pop albums , think yazoo, Kate bush and human league ...Great !!!
And to cap it all a wee dog bowl for the best boy already in place .
We’ve stayed in far more expensive places than this , however brew dog kennels is certainly barking up the right tree!
Greater than the sum of its parts , thanks we’ll be returning X

We stayed for 2 nights - I was really excited to stay here as I absolutely love Brewdog. However, I came away quite disappointed.
Check in was smooth and staff were friendly and helpful.
The apartment was really funky but didn’t really work:
There were coffee beans / tea but no milk.
There was a dishwasher / washing machine but no tablets.
The toiletries were themed as Elvis juice inspired but they smelt awful - to the extent I had to go and buy some new ones.
The room felt it should’ve been the other way round as you fall into the bed area but then have loads of lounge space the other end. It would’ve been more comfortable swapped over.
The bathroom was ridiculously small and the Beer fridge was empty, although sold as a feature when booking.
I’m pleased I’ve stayed, but would give it a Miss next time.

Stopped for 2 nights in the Elvis Juice room and we loved every minute. Warm welcome from the manager of the bar who checked us in and gave us some tips on what to see in the area. The location is fantastic just a couple of minutes walk to the shops, restaurants and bars and obviously right next to the brewdog bar where we got a free welcome drink.
We were blown away by the apartment, it's funky yet comfortable with loads of well thought out extras which really added to the value of the stay. Loved having a telly in the bedroom as well as the lounge, loved the beer fridge in the bathroom, loved that they put fresh milk in the kitchen fridge and loved the artwork, the records and most of all the complimentary little breakfast box in the morning which we hadn't expected at all.
I would 100% stay again, Aberdeen had loads to offer and the apartment was gorgeous

Firstly these apartments are in a great central position. The bed was comfortable and the room sizes are great. On the down side. A fridge in the bathroom, a fluorescent lamp in the bedroom, a guitar, record player and a dog bowl don't do the Brewdog brand justice. The kitchen is tired with loose doors and badly in need of refurb. The rug was threadbare and a slip hazard. Due to COVID there was no beer in the fridge, but we did have milk?
The worst and most dangerous thing was the hot water. The water is scalding hot and could easily cause burns to a younger or older visitor. There is no warning of this. A simple solution would be a temperature control to prevent scalding. Overall I think Brewdog need to rebrand this hotel/apartment and bring it up to the companies expected standards.
