The room was very spacious and comfortable with en-suite facilities. Large TV and settee. King size bed ,dresser and plenty of cupboard space, iron, hair dryer, etc. Breakfast was outstanding, and the service overall was very good. Very good location for the railway station, buses and shops as well as rear parking (although limited to 25 spaces) In all a great stay and value for money.

This hotel has been refurbished in some areas...(big task considering the age of the building) Room was spacious clean and comfortable.. ALL staff were friendly and helpful.... The breakfast was lovely, hot, and reasonably priced. High tea was very tasty and stylish... Food I would definitely recommend to everyone.... Situated very nice beside the shops, station and local pubs and restaurants..... Yes I realise its old fashioned I areas also tired in others BUT she has been a glamorous lady in her day now she is full of character and charm... Thank you the Station Team

I'm not sure the recent reviews were referring to the same hotel! Our experience was of a very conveniently sited hotel which was built over a hundred years ago and was excellent value for money. We had an excellent breakfast in a clean, well decorated dining area, reception area and service very good. Our bedroom was spacious and yes, old fashioned but it was fine. No issues at all with cleanliness. Car parking was on a first come first served basis and no problem parking our car when we arrived at 4pm. Would definitely stay there again.

You might think, given the cost of the rooms, that staying at the Station Hotel would be a relaxing experience. Both times I've been, this has not been the case. I won't be staying again. Do read on though, it gets quite entertaining if you're not trying to sleep through it... The first time I stayed the electricity in our room wasn't working. After a long time of trying to fix it, they eventaully gave us another room. When I asked for a hairdryer I was told to go to the reception desk to pick it up. In the morning, I found none of the sockets in the room were working, so I had to use it in the coridoor. The second time (more fool me) was last night, where I yet again had to ask for a hairdryer (though they did bring it to me this time). At 11.30pm the fire alarm went off and everyone (or maybe only those who weren't regular guests) trouped out to the street. It's a gigantic building, so this is quite an operation. Once down, we were told it was a false alarm and back we went. I could smell burning in my room, so I assume someone next door had been smoking in their room and set the fire alarm off. At around 3am I was woken up by two men trying to have a conversation between the coridoor right outside my room and someone in the room next door - so, top volume - accompanied by loud banging - maybe someone kicking the wall? When I finally went out to ask them to quieten down, there were two guys there, looking at a fist sized hole in the plaster board wall opposite my room. One of them said 'yes, but - he's dropped his phone down this hole'. Failing to see how this was my problem (and utterly bamboozled about WHY this idiot had put his phone into the hole in the first place???) I went back in. When they carried on, I called the reception desk, where they chap said 'yes - but he's dropped his phone down a hole in the wall'. Anyway, eventually they quietened back down. 7.30 in the morning, I was getting up, but had I been able to, I'd have been having a lie in trying to catch up on lost sleep someone was taking a power tool to the wall to try and get the phone out. Neither time has there been any question of offering a refund, or even an apology. Their attitude to hospitatliy in no way matches the pricetag. It's right next to the station, so it's very convenient if you're travelling, but the prices are hiked because oil industry guys with a lot more money than sense don't care what it costs (in terms of the planet as well as their hotels - just saying) and get pissed, smoke in their rooms and drop their phones down little holes in the wall just cause... Unless that's you (in which case, be my guest), I'd recommend giving it a wide berth.

My work booked me into the Station Hotel for a night before going offshore. As an exiled Aberdonian, my heart sunk as many offshore workers know the reputation of the hotel. But I was in for a surprise. The ladies an at reception gave me a great welcome and a bit of chat. I had a room in the part of the building on the other side of the restaurant. Going through the corridors you could see doors with chipped paint, but when you consider how many workers with big bags must barge through them, then little surprise. The surprise started when I got to the room. It was lovely. Modern, well decorated, and well lit. Not dark and dingy at all. The bathroom was also well laid out. The room was immaculately clean, and I was very pleased with my room. Food was good in the restaurant with decent enough portion sizes. Breakfast was great too. Plenty of fresh fruit, cooked items and continental offerings too. The only slight downside was that my room faced the railway platforms, and being single glazed I heard quite a lot of guard whistles and the (not too frequent) trains passing but this wasn’t anything within the hotel’s control. However I have to say that was one of the most comfortable nights sleep I have had in a hotel for ages. Yes, you can spot wall paper that’s damaged in the stairwells in places, but it’s obvious that they’ve had a leak and will put it right. It’s an old building and it was interesting to look past this and imagine the people who must have been here in the past when it was the headquarters of the Great North Of Scotland Railway. Would be happy to return and would consider staying here as a leisure guest.

We stayed here before and had a fab experience, which included a lovely room. This time we were stuck up on the 4th floor, the bathroom was tiny, my partner couldn't sit on the toilet without burning his knees on the towel rail, the blind on the velux window was frayed and damaged (this flapped all night), the mirror fell off one bracket (i took it down in case it fell and broke) - there was mould in the shower and a damp patch on the ceiling - not the best - will be asking which rooms are available before I book again

Great central location opposite the train station. Really helpful friendly staff. Breakfast really good. Really clean hotel. But the mattress was uncomfortable and pillows were really hard. Very limited parking but if you by came by train or fly that’s not an issue. But really good value for money and would stay here again.
