The Leonardo Hotel Aberdeen boasts a prime central spot within a bustling shopping mall, offering guests the convenience of nearby transportation like buses and trains. While many guests have commended the clean rooms and the chic design of common areas, opinions on the hotel's amenities and service are split. Some visitors report a lack of in-room features and have encountered unsatisfactory service, whereas others find the staff helpful. Moreover, critiques about the hotel's value often reference overpriced dining options and unmet expectations regarding room quality and comfort.

3 of us spent a night here prior to catching a train down to Edinburgh. We were in room 702 which is a corner room sleeping 3. It was spotlessly clean and lovely and bright with 2 big windows.
Beds and pillows were super comfortable and the room was very quiet.
The bathroom was clean and had good quality soap, body wash and shampoo dispensers on the walls. (no hand cream though). I think I preferred the small complimentary bottles but the dispensers on the wall probably save on plastic wastage.
Nice selection of teas and biscuits.
Quick check out.
Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: You can request a room with a view when booking. Room 702 was a corner room with nice city views.

This would have been a 5 star review but I wasn’t 100% happy with my room.
I had a disabled access room and I’m not disabled so would much rather have just had a regular room. Don’t get me wrong the room was spotless and everything was ok just everything is designed for disabled people so lower down and pull cords everywhere for any emergencies. Which other than that the room was great and the staff were once again fantastic.
I ordered room service and it was really fast to come but the £6 delivery fee is a bit much as I’d rather give the staff member who delivered my food a tip in their hand.
If your wanting a city Center hotel this is a great hotel.

Easy to check in, well appointed room with the bonus of a bath... friendly staff... perfect location for shops and city centre. Room service was great and there was a wide selection on the menu, there was also the option of getting food and drink out of hours. Decent sized room and little added extras as standard, such as an iron and an ironing board. As with most hotels you need to keep your key away from magnets as this will save frequent trips to reception. Highly recommended 10+

On arrival we were advised that check in was open at 3pm. We went back at 1pm to ask if our room was ready, as I had become unwell and had to lie down. On enquiring if the room was ready, the same check in man snapped at us that ‘I already told you 3pm’. He then told us it would be £20 to check in early, we paid this as I was unwell. The lady behind us was allowed to check in early free of charge as she was attending a function in the hotel. Our room was shabby, bedside cabinets were warped and torn, the toilet seat was broken. The seat was unattached at one side and the lid fell down when using the toilet. We did not report this as we had been put off by the rudeness of staff.
Definitely not the experience we were hoping for.
I’m hoping someone can explain why we paid £20 extra for a room that would have been lying empty had we not had to check in at 1pm.
No excuse for rude and surly staff, or for shabby rooms .

The best thing about this hotel is its city centre location built into a shopping mall and good but expensive parking.
Stayed 2 nights in January 2022 in an 'executive room'. This is really their ranking- its large enough for a king size bed and the obligatory swivel chair but that's it. Bathroom is tiny and has no heating at all (unless you leave the door open and heat from the room. The air vent didn't seem to be working either, as didn't one of the bedside lights. Room was clean and well decorated but not serviced during the stay day to Covid restrictions. Fast WiFi availabe in the room but TV wasn't smart. Check post post Covid what the policy is and check its not an excuse for understaffing.
Breakfast was a mixed affair. One staff member (admittedly during covid the staffing has been reduced everywhere) alone has to cover meet &greet, table clearing, table preparation and buffet replenishing. The hot buffet had run out of eggs and sausages so I asked if they could be refilled to be told that the chef was on her break ( this was 9pm. room open from 5.30 to 10 in theory) and it would be refilled in 5 minutes. When we left at 9.30 they were still empty and i saw some new diners looking a bit askance.
Parking is either in the mall parking which is good, well lit and safe at £18 per night or with the hotels discount parking at £6 per night in a multistorey with access via a stairway and poorly maintained lifts ( out when I was there).
I would recommend eating at night at one of the fast food outlets in the mall or walking the short distance to Union Street and enjoying a much better choice.

Good Morning oilman108, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, we are pleased to read that you found our hotel’s central location to be great and the parking to be convenient, and that you enjoyed the clean spacious room. On the other hand, we are really sorry to read that some aspects of the service you received didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we are still working with some temporary challenges around consistent staffing and supply chain issues which have come up due to the ongoing pandemic which means that on some occasions we haven't been able to meet our traditionally high standards and we do apologise that this has affected your stay. We will pass your feedback regarding the heating on to our maintenance team immediately and we very much hope that we can welcome you back soon to enjoy an experience without these issues! Kind Regards, Melisa Customer Experience Team

Booked a executive king room for three nights, its supposed include (even now just look at the website) complimentary bottled water/biscuits/newspaper and costa coffee. Not unless you go and ask for it at reception and even then you can't get a newspaper or costa coffee. Had a meal in the bar that was dire, may as well have went to MacDonalds or BK. Crussh breakfast again not up to much. We all know these are difficult time but this is not what you advertised or what is available elsewhere.

If you are arriving by car just be aware they don't have parking onsite and you will have a walk with your bags to the hotel. There favoured car park College street is pay and display ignore the ANPR sign as you go in its not that high tech, unless you leave without paying.

This hotel has a really great location - it is central, by the railway and bus station, and part of the Union Square shopping centre with its facilities. And it is relatively cheap. But it appears to have given up any attempt to provide a service, with almost every request met with a "sorry, covid restrictions mean we cannot do that".

This comes to a head with the "breakfast" offering, which is a small bag of not very nice food left outside one's room overnight. With no attempt to cater for allergies, much of it was literally uneatable for me, and the rest was unappetising. Given what other hotels we stayed at in this trip round Scotland were able to do - in most cases full breakfasts served in their dining room, and in one case running also to a brave attempt at a buffet bar - this was a disappointment to say the least.

But, great location!

Shocked at this particular hotel as I have stayed in a lot of jury's Inn and the cleanliness has always been amazing however this particular hotel in Aberdeen was disgusting. Black marks all over floor, white crushed stuff on floor beside bed, holes in pillow cases, dust everywhere, inside of windows hand prints and marks, toilet was worse, pee stains on seat and pub1c hairs on seat, bathroom floor and the bath. Shared use of shampoo and soap dispensers had mould on bottom bath was dirty, brown splash marks on wall next to toilet and there was a sanitised strip on toilet seat and remote which was not cleaned at all. It looked as though the cleaners went in qnd put on the sanitised strips and left. Even if we were not going through a pandemic such as covid, the shared use of shampoo and soap in a dirty mouldy dispenser should not be allowed. Would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in a great location near the bus and train station and by a large shopping mall. Not far to walk into town. Everywhere was very clean. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The air con worked well as did the shower. The bath sheets were huge and fluffy. You could chose whether to allow housekeeping in and at what frequency. Breakfast was left outside your room each morning and you could order hot breakfast baps and speciality coffee the day before and collect it from the dining room. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is the attitude of the receptionist when we arrived. We had flown to Aberdeen and arrived at the hotel just after 11am. We were well aware that we could not check in until 3pm but asked if we could leave our luggage. We were just told 'no' with no explanation offered as to why. I understand that due to covid things may not be as normal but surely a solution could be found to this problem. What made it worse was the fact that we had my 87 year old father in law with us and we were forced to take our luggage out with us until our room was ready at 2.30. The receptionist was more pleasant on our return to check in and throughout the remainder of our stay but first impressions really do count!
