The hotel is a wonderful maze of hallways and passages. The rooms are all different and beautiful. Each is a work of art. I felt like a pirate king in ours. The hotel is rich in history and ornamentation. The dining area is like eating in a cathedral. And the food is great. Don't miss this. Located in the heart...

I had a three hour spa here on New Year's Eve for my 30th birthday, and I have to say WOW!!! The staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating! The spa is out of this world beautiful and immaculately clean! We also had afternoon tea as part of our package and the girls in the spa went out of their...

We stayed in a Junior Suite that is one of the old style rooms for our 10th wedding anniversary. We were given a small helium balloon saying Happy Anniversary and 6 chocolate truffles on a plate. Poor show. The room was dark room, high windows that you couldn't see out of. It was ok but absolutely not worth what we...

Such a fabulous hotel. It is a little pricey but worth every bit of it. I actually think it is not as expensive as it could be, this place is one of the best I have ever stayed at. Its a little bit hard parking but if the street isn't crowded you can pull right up to the valet. There...

Having watched a tv program on the Merchant Hotel , myself and a friend decided to travel from Dublin to have a light lunch and see the famous Christmas decorations. The main entrance to the hotel is disappointing and its a maze to get to the cocktail bar. We ordered a lamb and a fish pie . Both were small,...

Staying for my husband's big birthday. Room the most noisy ever stayed in no sound proofing, no sleep. Shower broken extractor fan broken, furniture chipped and badly scored. Returned after great meal out, no seats in residents bar from 10.00 - 12.00p.m. for residents. Had to sit in side corridor . Plenty of waiters serving in bar but generally ignored...

It's difficult to know where to begin with our recent experience at the Merchant hotel as it was a very negative experience throughout. We got married last week (at a different venue) and decided that, as we lived in Belfast, we'd have a special few nights within the Merchant instead of going directly home after our wedding. We checked in...

Stayed at the Merchant as a treat for my mums birthday. The room was beautiful, fantastic bathroom and lots of lovely extras. However, because it was Christmas we could only choose from a set Christmas menu for our dinner, which at £55 per person, plus service charge was expensive. However, we thought it would be a 5* culinary experience, but although...

I attended the hotel recently for a wedding . I was very impressed with the luxurious decor , service and high quality of food and certainly lives up to its five star rating and reputation. Staff were very friendly, courteous and efficient . Special mention to the hard working banqueting manager . Ashu was extremely pleasant and friendly and ensured...

Had booked afternoon tea at the Merchant for Saturday the 10 December 2016 at 12:30. Seated in the Champagne Lounge, just off the the Great Hall, which was lovely and intimate. Our server Irene (a lovely Italian girl) looked after us extremely well ensuing that the glasses of those in the party drinking prosecco, were always topped up. The spread...
