Great place to stay we are older couple and was a little apprehensive but one of the best rooms we had on our 2 month travels in Europe. Room clean tidy large everything we needed. Staff brilliant, food great. lot of leaflets showing attractions & things to do. No noise, Hall ways quite. Would stay there again & again.

Visited this huge new hostel with family (midweek half term) and wow - never had a YHA experience like it before. What a change from the old Cardiff YHA (visited about 3 years previously). Carpets, modern en-suite bathroom, TV in room, plenty of parking. . . the YHA trademark friendly staff too. And, get this - the beds were already... More

Firstly, I think some of the older reviews might be for when the YHA Cardiff was located in another buidling! THe current hostel is in East Tyndale St (not far from Central station anf near to Cardiff Bay). It is located in aformer Mercure Hotel (!) I was told, so the rooms are still furenished as smart hotel rooms, with... More

I stayed for 4 days, the rooms were pretty clean and good. I bought the breakfast for every day but it was a lottlebit small for my opinion. It is some kind of "all you can eat" but you have the typical english breakfast and some toasts with butter and not really good tastin' factory cheese. Thats the obly manko... More

The hostel itself is looking tired and its location isn't particularly convenient, being some way outside the city centre. Buses back to the hostel in the evening run once an hour so you might want to consider taxis. Parking is tight, with limited spaces, after that it's roadside parking opposite. We were sleeping in a 14-bedded dormitory, didn't realise the... More

This is a very typical youth hostel. For 39 pounds, two friends and I booked a private room (sleeps four, not ensuite, all with the 3 pound YHA member discount) and despite being a little worn and janky (typical for YHA from what I've seen--not bad, just a bit tired), it was a good place to stay in itself. Big,... More

My friend and I visited this place during the Olympics, as we were going to watch the football at the Millennium Stadium. The hostel is exactly that, a hostel. It isn't a first class service, but it works. They sell these good locks for £3 (which you can keep)...and pretty much everything else is normal and expected for your average... More
