Boutique hotel in Cardiff city centre with a private roof terrace and guest lounge with bar. The hotel features authentic Spanish touches throughout, with a light and natural Andalucian feel. The historic wooden floorboards throughout the building have been reclaimed and rehoused within the beams, sills, headboards and shelving features. Spanish doors and shutters have been self-sourced and reused as headboards, against a neutral palette fusing traditional Spain with timeless modern touches. The aim is for indulgent comfort but in a simple, paired back, inviting style. There are also a superb wine house and grill downstairs and a tapas bar around the corner owned by the same family.

Detailed Reviews
I've stayed in a fair few hotels while travelling solo and some have been nicer than others. This gem, I am pleased to say, has taken the top spot in my list.
Spotlessly clean, attentive and friendly front-of-house staff, and care given to the most minute details of the guest experience. The hotel's branded hand soap, usually not very noteworthy, smelled so good I was very tempted to buy a bottle to take home.
The bed was very comfortable with a huge amount of pillows, and the room came with a surprisingly spacious ensuite bathroom. Every morning there is a continental breakfast, plus the option of a cooked breakfast for a small charge to your room. I went for the continental every day, but be assured that no expense has been spared even for this - unlike the continental breakfasts you may be used to at big chain hotels, this has a distinctly Spanish flavour, in line with the hotel's theming.
The hotel's terrace is also lovely when the sun is out. On my last day I went out there with a cold beer taken from the hotel's honesty bar - write down your name and room and you'll be charged at the end of the stay for whatever you've drunk. There are of course wines and spirits on hand for those who have the taste for it, as well as softs.
I have nothing to complain about and I fully intend to stay here again. My only word of caution: Be sure to book well in advance, as this is only a small hotel, and with a service and experience like this, it's not hard to imagine why they are very booked up! Also, be advised that access to the hotel requires going up a set of steps, and access to the rooms requires more steps, so it may not be suited to all travellers. For me, however, it was perfect.
This is easily one of the best hotels in all of Great Britain. A little slice of paradise is this parador.

We typically prefer small ‘boutique’ hotels; there’s usually more interest and charm, though a risk of a less slick service than in some of the bigger places. There is no risk here though. This is unquestionably one of the finest small hotels we have visited.
The location is on an unremarkable side road off the busy high street and has a relatively unassuming frontage above its restaurant, but step inside and it’s brilliant. We were slightly concerned that it might be noisy, but the soundproofing was excellent and we were completely undisturbed. The room was superb; large, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and with all modern requirements met - we had a very large bathroom with a double shower cubicle down the length of one wall.
There is a separate guest lounge with adjoining terrace, which is large in comparison to the number of guest and therefore unlikely to be crowded. Here there is an extensively and delightfully stocked honesty bar. I find this particularly pleasing; it’s the sort of thing that is quite rare these days but it makes residents feel like trusted guests and I don’t imagine that the privilege is abused.
The breakfast is first rate and plentiful. We regret now that we didn’t stay another night and dine there in the evening, but we will definitely be back.
Outstanding.

We chose this Spanish theme hotel for a 3 night city break. It's right in the centre but on a side street so perfectly placed for everything. The room was stylishly designed, with a big bed and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was in the restaurant downstairs and we took the £5 upgrade to the cooked breakfast every day on top of the continental offerings and found that a bargain.
There are a lot of stairs to navigate to the rooms so it's not for the infirm. There is a residents lounge with alcoholic beverages to buy on an honour system. This is where the free hot drinks are, there is none in the rooms.

Parador 44 is a hidden gem in centre of Cardiff. I’ve stayed in the hotel a couple of times now and cannot recommend it highly enough.
Rooms are clean, fresh and decorated in a simple yet quality manner that gives an essence of Spain.
It’s very close to the Principality Stadium on one side and St Mary’s Street on the other, so ideally located for weekend breaks, though street noise is audible but tolerable.
A communal honesty bar gives plenty of choice when you rumble back and fancy a glass or cuppa before bed.
The breakfast is superb. Parador is part of the independently owned Forty Four Group chain of restaurants, so food is their thing, and the breakfast choices do not disappoint.
At around £100 per night per person, it’s well priced for what you get.

This hotel is a treat, starting with friendly staff at check in. It has a Spanish-style design and a Spanish restaurant on the main level (Asador 44). My room was a generous size and the bathroom is beautiful. The sheets were great, the shower was great, and the included continental breakfast was great (you can have a cooked breakfast for just a little more). There’s also an attractive lounge area upstairs with both indoor and outdoor seating. You have to walk up some stairs; there's no elevator.
The location is a plus—it’s less than 10 minutes’ walk from the train station, two blocks from Cardiff Castle, and one block from the large pedestrian area (two parallel streets) in the town center. It’s also very close to Principality Stadium if you’re coming for a rugby match. Highly recommend.

Hotel was really lovely. Room was very clean and comfortable with nice bedding and a fabulous bathroom with big walk in shower and colourful tiling. Room had a Mediterranean feel in keeping with the intent of the hotel. There was a nice lounge area near the bedrooms with a large nespresso machine and you could make a range of teas and coffees and sit and enjoy them. There was also a reasonably priced honesty bar in the lounge with a wide range of drinks and snacks. Breakfast was amazing - with a choice of continental type breakfast (great range of cakes/pastries) or a delicious cooked breakfast. Had the full English which was very well cooked and there were a few Spanish twists to the menu in keeping with the hotel/restaurant theme. Have to say it was one of the few hotel breakfasts I’ve had which didn’t disappoint. Staff were very welcoming and efficient.

What an amazing hotel in the centre of Cardiff.
Beautifully designed on the inside. Lovely king size beds and fantastic power shower in the bathroom.
Staff were brilliant, from Adam who came to my rescue when I accidentally trapped myself in the bathroom to Charlotte who assisted at breakfast this morning.
So many wonderful Spanish touches inside the hotel. I liked the upstairs terrace and the lounge with tea and coffee. An honesty bar is available for those who drink.
Breakfast was superb. Continental breakfast is included but a cooked breakfast is available for an extra £5 a night.
Please look no further when staying in Cardiff. This hotel justifies its high praise.

We have eaten at Asador44 many times and have always enjoyed an amazing meal.
This time we thought we would combine a night at Parador44 with a meal at Asador and throw in a few drinks at Bar44 along the way.
Everything was top notch at each venue and special mention must go to the breakfast at Parador which was in our opinion, the best we have ever tasted in the UK for many years.
Bar44 was buzzing on a Thursday evening and special mention must go to the young bar man who was taking everything in his stride while serving everyone with a smile on his face.
The food in Asador44 as always was spot on along with the staff who are polite, knowledgeable and very efficient.
Parador44 is a great addition to Cardiffs accomodation list. We have stayed in several across the city and the quality, finish and extras make it about the best for the cost.
The honesty bar is a great idea, it is used a lot across Europe, great to see and use now in a thriving Cardiff City Centre.

This small unprepossessing hotel is located just yards frfom Cardiff castle, the natioanl Museum, the Stadium, and Cardiff Market.
Although Welsh owned. it has a real Spanish feel with lovely wooden furntiture and lots of small deatils in the decor.
The rooms are splendid. Spacious and with all the amenities you would expect, spotlesly clean and housekeeping of the highest standard.
The breakfast servied in the restaurant below is an intersting mix of British and Spanish and is certainly enough to set you up for the day.
The hotel also has a residents' lounge with an honesty bar
