Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I cannot fault this place! The rooms are like little self contained apartments. Very well equipped, clean, modern, and just really comfortable. They have a safe, iron, ironing board, and all kitchen appliances including a dishwasher. The gym is well kitted out with cardio equipment, free weights etc. with towels and water in there too. Breakfast is brilliant! To say it’s included in the price, I was very impressed. Coffee machine, pancake machine, hot buffet, cereal, fruit, yogurts, breads, and pastries. All served until 11am which I think is a great time. You also get access to the Holiday Inn Express next door to use the bar. The location is great. Close to bars on the bay and a short taxi ride away from the city centre. I will 100% stay here again!

First class affordable accommodation. Very good breakfast also, from fruits, cereal and yoghurts to full Welsh cooked. Comfort and cleanliness were king. We will be returning next time we are in Cardiff. We would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.

Really clean & comfortable room. Very well equipped kitchenette. Very good breakfast selection and friendly staff. I’ll come back in the summer so we sit out on the balcony and watch the water. I think £10 per night parking charge is a bit expensive though, particularly as you’re not guaranteed a parking space if you go out and come back late. Why they have placed the key pad to lift the barrier in a place you have to get out of your car then quickly get back in other wise the barrier comes down. I suppose it provides entertainment for the reception staff.

This is an easy review that can be summed in two words: Absolutely Incredible” The room was extremely spacious and well equipped with a complete kitchen! It was clean and well kept. The staff were all fabulous from the receptionist to the cleaners and kitchen staff. Joanne in the kitchen deserves a special mention. The staff went out of their way to make the stay 5 stars. The buffer was amongst the best I’ve ever had and I’m quite well travelled. Not only was it well stocked they supply paper bags in the event you want to take some pastries away with you !! I’ve never been anywhere that does that. I would absolutely, categorically and definitely come again.

Very clean, friendly staff and good breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay. Not too far from Cardiff bay and city centre. Really quiet location. Don't hear a sound when in rooms so was wonderful for a light sleeper. Onsite parking at £10 a day.

The hotel was ideally situated near to the city centre but also a short walk from Cardiff Bay. We had a warm welcome at reception. The room was pristine, lots of space and equipment. Our balcony on the top floor had a fantastic view. Breakfast was excellent - loads of choice and plenty of space.

Arrived about midday, couldn't check in until 4pm, but we were allowed to leave the car in their carpark. There's a £10 charge for this overnight. The apartment was really nice, a lovely kitchen and seating area, bedroom with bathroom. Our room on the third floor had a little balcony with a table and a couple of chairs, nice views of the dock area too. The bathroom has a bath and shower, the kitchen is well appointed with a fridge, dishwasher etc. They sell food and stuff in the reception area, but there's a convenience store next to the suites. It's about a 15 minute walk into Cardiff centre one way, and Cardiff bay the other way, both well worth a visit. Breakfast was lovely, a nice dining area, friendly staff and a good selection of food. We really enjoyed our stay, would visit again.

We stayed at the Staybridge Suites for one night so we could visit the university. It was perfect. Lovely room, very clean throughout the hotel and really well equipped. Great location as we could walk across the city. The breakfast was delicious and there was so much choice. What stood out most during our short stay was how polite and friendly the staff were, in particular Helen who was so efficient on the front desk and Joanne and Olance who made sure that guests had everything they needed. Everybody was working so hard but with a smile on their face. They are such good representatives for the hotel and really made sure guests were looked after. We hope to return again.

Onsite parking for the 'early birds' charged at £10 per night with a barrier controlled private car park right outside. The check-in and welcome was bland verging on 'I can't be bothered to smile or look you in the face', but this poor young man was clearly working every hour available as he was there all day into the evening and then again first thing the next day. on both days of our stay. Would have marked service higher if he could have mustered a smile or conversation at check-in. Due to really bad traffic our journey from North Devon [a mere 40 miles as the crows flies] had taken over 3 1/2 hours. The hotel is clean and modern with access to lifts and your rooms is via a touch key card. Our suite had a large king sized bed, with a proper mattress [not two singles pushed together with that horrible gap down the middle.] The bed was comfy and we both slept very well. The room had a kitchen with an oven, micro-wave, a fridge and even a dishwasher, together with plates, glass etc.! On first appearance the toilet, shower with large cubicle and rain showerer looked clean, but on closer inspection the tiled walls could have done with some bleach and the extractor fan outlet had clearly not been cleaned for 'some time', if ever? Breakfast was included, fruit, pancake machine, cereals, both hot English and Continental offerings together with toasters and tea and coffee. Breakfast was self service which worked very well, and the food was of a high standard and most importantly the hot food was actually hot. The staff at breakfast were friendly and we were treated to a number of nice smiles. The staff clearly all work extremely hard for a basic wage. Walk to the centre of town was approximately 20 minutes, but all flat and easy to find the route. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you all for a pleasant stay.

I booked this as we were seeing a gig at the millennium centre - and it couldn't have been more perfect. Just 10 mins walk to the venue - and lots to see along the way. We received a lovely warm welcome too - the suite was roomy, super clean and fresh - and everything worked as it should. The staff were on hand 24/7 to answer any questions - and I honestly can't wait to return.
