Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You always know what you’re getting with a premier inn, hence why I often use them when staying away from home. However this particular premier inn was even better than the usual . Recently refurbished it was very clean, modern and comfortable, an attractive reception area, pleasant dining room, funky decor and comfortable rooms made this a hotel I would absolutely visit again if in the area. The small issue of the room keycard not working after the first night and needing resetting was a minor inconvenience and was resolved easily and quickly with a friendly smile. Would absolutely recommend to anyone needing to stay in the Cardiff area.

What a lovely hotel! Recently renovated it is very stylish and really exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of options to keep the whole family happy and the customer service was spot on. Couldn't fault it for the price at all!

Location wise was great, and the recent refurbed was noted. Minor niggles with the blackout curtain coming off the rail, letting in light and car lights from the road below, and faulty hair dryer - both easily fixable (room 212). The basics in relation to hospitality need to be addressed, a smile from staff would go a long way. But what really let you down was the cooked breakfast - it was cold, this was so disappointing - come on - everyone wants their cooked breakfast to be warm, cold scrambled eggs and baked beans this is far from ideal, would suggest that you need better warming plates and warming lamps. Certainly regret paying extra for the breakfast!

We’re booked this hotel as there wasn’t much available in Cardiff. Well it was a treat! Smart, clean, lots of friendly staffs. We had a ‘twin’ room but the second bed was not just a camp bed and was super comfy. Room was a good size and had everything we needed. Bathroom was fab with a bath and a great, powerful hot shower. And we didn’t hear another guest once we were in our room although the hotel was full. The bar / restaurant was great - very sociable whilst private. Food and drinks were great. Would definitely return.

Such a friendly team at the Premier Inn North - coped brilliantly with the Rugby crowd staying for Wales vs Scotland. Good breakfast (pounce when the fresh, hot food is laid out) & tasty late evening pizza. Housekeeping could keep a closer eye on cleaning (previous occupants had chocolate over carpet & arm chair) & equipment - fawlty hairdryer. That’s what brings it from 5 to 4 star.

Excellent stay at this hotel . Room was perfect and very clean, has also recently been refurbished too I believe . Beds extra comfy ,breakfast was amazing ! It was a surprise for my husband’s birthday as we had Wales Rugby match tickets too . Personal touches left in room … thank you very much to Sam … great customer care by her all round from me ringing before hand to the check in process too ! Bus stop just up the road with buses running into the centre of Cardiff every 30 mins . Perfect find for Cardiff Events if you like peace and quiet too ! Definitely return and highly recommend!

As usual the room was good - very clean and an extremely comfortable bed. Would have liked extra pillows - one each was not enough. Disappointing breakfast - cold plates, cold scrambled eggs and cold mushrooms. Also, no fresh orange juice, just sweet tropical or apple cordials.

Easy to find. Plenty of parking even arriving late evening (just remember to log your registration number and validate). Self check in easy and member of staff on hand to supply second key (needed if one in party goes separately to bar area as both required for lights in room and access to floors). Room obviously recently refurbished to a high standard (just sampling the coffee machine) - chocolate eaten on arrival and pleased to find fridge with complementary water, both still and sparkling). Heating easy to figure out, quiet and responsive. Bed so comfy with extra pillows in sealed bag. Rainforest shower and choices of body wash most invigorating. Breakfast really set me up for the day. Staff attentive, friendly and welcoming. This was a premier league stay with conference league pricing - what is not to love.

Our experience was mostly positive. It was a Premier Inn so you aren’t expecting it to be really fancy but it was a great price, even for a premier inn, and really not bad. The lobby was nicely decorated and the family room was perfectly comfortable and reasonably sized. We slept well. The breakfast- again, not really fancy but good. The only downsides were that the carpark was really full. There was literally one space left which we took, and it was really small and far from the hotel entrance. I don’t know what we’d have done if there hadn’t been that space. Lots of people were drinking in the lobby bar (Thursday evening) so probably using the spaces as it was quiet when we left the following morning. Also, there were no staff on reception and it was self check in. This was efficient at the time but caused problems later on. We followed the instructions but one of our key cards ended up not working and my husband was trapped in the lobby unable to get up to our room (I was in the room) with no staff to help, so I had to come down and help- at least the other key worked!
