Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unable to enter room because battery in door lock had apparently expired. Had to wait nearly 2 hours for maintenance man to arrive with what looked like bent wire coat hangers which he used to reach under the door until he was able to reach the inside door handle with it to open the door. Breakfast was okay but dinner left a lot to be desired. Mould in shower

We found the hotel was a great base to explore Cardiff and Cardiff Bay, it was nice to not have the hustle and bustle of the city outside your window and free parking is a plus too. Our room was clean and tidy, we had an evening meal in the cafe bar which was very good. The staff were all polite and when we had a problem with our tv, Kim the customer service advisor was really helpful and as she couldn't fix the tv, she kindly arranged for us to move to another room and offered us a complimentary breakfast. We think that this was exceptional customer service.

A good choice for visiting Cardiff Bay and shopping centres, or international rugby and football games. Basic accomodation but clean and cheerful - good value bed and breakfast. Easy parking and easy to find the hotel.

Pros Great location for both Cardiff city centre and bay Free parking Cheap Cons Room (first floor) very dated. Bed/Mattress had seen better days and I slept terribly. Bathroom not nice, again dated and tired. Very noisy - both from the window, the corridor and the adjacent rooms. Had a generally bad smell. I’ve stayed in much nicer travelodges, this one is in desperate need of a refurb. I believe you can pay extra for rooms on the top floor which are nicer.

Out of date bathroom, the handrail was rusting and with no extractor the bedroom and bathroom were constantly damp and smelt damp so we had to have the window open in February when it was very cold and wet outside

Spotlessly clean room, wonderful staff, they were so kind and helpful. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, the food was lovely and great value for money. We had a family room, which was quite compact, however it was perfectly ok and importantly was quite cheap. I would recommend paying the £10 for early check in - gave us a bonus afternoon down the bay.

Booked the hotel for 6 Nations weekend (Wales v Scotland). The hotel is walking distance to the City Centre and to the Bay, so it is the perfect location and a lot quieter than hotels right in the centre. The rooms are clean but could do with a little update. For what we required, this was not an issue. Parking is free for the duration of the stay. The staff at the hotel are brilliant and so friendly. Kim is a star and so helpful. A lovely Welsh welcome. Thank you Kim! We have booked again for the Wales v Italy game and look forward to the lovely Welsh hospitality.

Last minute break away after booking a show in Cardiff Central. Staff were friendly at check in and check out. The room was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. Perfect location with no issues. We would definitely stay here again. 😁
